you know what annoying crazy whine when you reverse??
(reverse gear is straight cut for those who really don't know..)
yeah.. you'll get plenty of that while driving normally now... but a "supercharged sound"? not so much..
and that is also if you can even shift correctly.

People want 6 spds for the versatility - couple of racing gears and a nice relaxed cruising gear. Getting straight cut gears is the exact opposite.
For people who race though... but 6G's? 6 grand for most people is better spent elsewhere. You know, like a new car.
Anyway, OP, what else have you planned for your car that makes straight cut gears worthwhile?

well im boosting so basically shifting like a tip tronic will make up for boost lag, and second 6g is byfar the cheapest ive seen for a dogbox...wrx's are notorious for theirs 10g dogbox's so for almost half the price i got one made for a much better car =] ours and ill get a vid up, and for who ever said that i cant drive striaght cuts ive ran straight cuts in 2 5.0 mustang and a wrx all past rides of mine so suck on that for not knowing
hmmm.... depending on who you ask, straight cut gears are weaker than helical (sp?) cut gears because there is less contact area between the straight cut gears versus helical... but that depends on who you ask, the materials used, yada yada yada...
generally straight cut deliver more power. The main reason people use helical is because it is much quieter.
I personally think straight cut gears sound awesome haha curious to see where this goes
