Would the engine still run if I do this?

EVEN IF YOU DID PULL THE PLUG YOUR ENGINE WOULD CONTINUE TO INJECT GAS INTO THAT CYLINDER ONLY NOW IT WILL DO NOTHING AND YOU'LL GET WORSE GAS MILEAGE AND LESS ACCELERATION.
I THINK YOU NEED TO FORFEIT YOUR KEYS AND TAKE THE BUS FROM NOW ON, MAKE THAT THE SHORT BUS.

look, our mileage is a result of our engines size and output, ratio of the gears, and the weight of the car, drag coefficient and rolling resistance of our tires. ambient weather conditions and terrain. and lastely the biggest variable are your driving habits. if you want better gas mileage you need to learn how to properly modify these objects.
the engine and gearing are set in stone, not much you can do to make it more aerodynamic unless you lower it and remove the side mirrors, you can put on smaller less grippy wheels with less resistance, remove all unnecessary weight from the car and go on a diet, you can't control the weather, but you can move to someplace that is completely flat like the mid west or whatever.
actually, turbo tc's have slightly better mileage some how, but that isn't a cost effective measure.

that is one way to check to see if you have a misfire in that cylinder and yes it will run, it will run like ____ but it will run. if you are doing this 'for the hell of it' then i think you really need a life. but thats just me.
