Default ZPIracing new products (light weight pulley, silicon hose)

ZPIracing is proud to release our newest product to our ever expanding product line.

The ZPIracing silicon hose upgrade kit is a great way to add some colored flair to your engine bay while upgrading the cooling system at the same time.

At this time we offer this in red and blue and have these in stock for immediate shipping. Comes with all necessary hardware to ensure a trouble free installation.
MSRP: 139.99

Scion Store price 128

The ZPIracing Aluminum pulley is a great way to add some power and remove some of the parasitic drag. We have not had this product on the dyno but the engine appears to rev substantially faster with this product installed.

This pulley has a great cosmetic appeal with a brushed outer lip

This lightweight pulley weights in at exactly one pound providing a great weight saving over stock. MSRP: 149.99

Scion store price $135

These are avaiable at www.thescionstore.com or at your ZPIracing authorized dealer.

Matty,

This is correct we did not change the diameter of the pulley thus not affecting the harmonic balance of the engine.

By just reducing the weight this allows for the engine to rev faster and provides less load or parasitic drag on the engine.

We do not have any dyno numbers at this time. We assume they will be low 2-4whp but the drivability has increased much like adding a lighten flywheel.

does the crank pulley retain any sort of harmonic balancer, or is it straight metal to reduce weight?

where?

i wasn't asking about the diameter, as that only affects the rotating mass output and under/overdrive of the alternator. I was wondering about the normally harmonic dampener which stock crank pulleys retain within them, think a rubber bushing of sorts, to eliminate harmonics from the pistons and rods that way oil pumps aren't damaged. Not any sort of bash, just a very simple question, the Tc may not need the harmonic dampenered determined on how the oil pump could be designed, but since i'm unaware of any of these facts, i'm asking the question.

The diameter of the crank pulley would have no effect on any "harmonic balancing." However, a changed diameter would effect the underdrive or overdrive of accessories.

it doesnt look like this pulley has a built in dampner (small rubber ring found in the OEM pulley)

Aftermarket crank pulleys are generally built using solid aluminum pieces and do not include the dampners. In my opinion solid crank pulleys are a good mod and I have had several underdrive pulleys from www.NonStopTuning.com for the past few years with good results.

my aftermarket crankpulley does not, its made my Fluidamper, with an increased harmonic dampener to equite for the higher rpms i'm turning, but then again, honda's are prone to oil pump failure with forged internals due to the increase of harmonics. aftermarket pulley on my engine would grenade my oil pump the first time i went to 9500rpms.

again, this may not apply to the scion, as it may have other measures to account for harmonics, or for the fact that it might not really matter for people never planning to built thier engine to A. rev high AND B. with aftermarket pistons/rods.

ZPI, do you know the weight of the stock crank pulley? Id love to see dyno's, but there will definately be gains by lowering the rotational mass of the engine. thankyou for you continued support of the scion community, it IS much appreciated.

What's your point? There is a such thing as being a Distributor you know.

Someone always has to try to add something negative to say. It's starting to get old.
