Default *** Boxmans DIY turbo Build-up***

The day has came for the Tc to become FI and I have took all the time and days spent on Scion Life to create the perfect kit for my needs. I am getting parts for this build from Dezod and Ingalls Engineering as well as some industry insiders.

Turbo kit info

- T3/T04B Vtrim (Stage and A/R) **top secret**
- Greddy Intercooler ( Thanks Benny)
- Tial 38mm wastegate
- Dezod Manifold
- Dezod Chargepipe kit
- Dezod Downpipe and S-pipe combo
- Greddy Emanage Ultimate (thanks Benny)
- RC 550's
- ACT Clutch and Flywheel combo (thanks Dean)
- Hks Bov/bbv (SL classifieds)
- Aem Wideband
- Ingalls Clutch line (thanks Ingalls)

I am building this kit to be a total beast in the midrange. Boost will be at about 8 pounds since this will be a DD for my GIRLFRIEND. That's right the Tc is no longer mine I have jumped ship and went for a STI. We still have the Xb and of course the Tc. I just needed more traction and more power. Stay tuned for updates on the kit. This should be about a 4 month project from start to finish. Money is tight but the results should show any confident DIY guy that a DIY turbo is an option. Also the Scion community is lucky to have vendors like Dezod to help guys like us.

Stay Tuned.....

There is the Heart of this build!

dont blame you on the STI. I test drove a WRX last night and now I want to sell my tC. It made my supercharged tC feel like the slowest car I've ever driven.

Good luck on the DIY turbo build.

The Sti is in a league all by its self. You cant compare this car to any other but one and thats the Evo. The Tc and Xb have treated me and my girl great since day one. Since they have been Great cars we will be keeping both and continue to mod them right along side the new STI

I can't afford the insurance on the STI not to mention the 30k+ price tag. So if I get the WRX it will replace the tC...but it's looking like another 6 months down the road.

Maybe if I would have put a turbo on the tC instead of the rattle-charger, I wouldn't have even gone to look at the WRX...but I do really want the AWD.

I will be working with a shop in my local area to complete this project. The shop is working on a *new* way to keep my intake charge cool as possible. I will post photos soon

The 550's and some little things here and there. The issue is Zpi hasn't been such a force and Paul has always been around to help me out no matter what kind of BS i threw his way

That turbo setup look quite like mine, I just ordered my turbo from Paul on Monday.
Can't wait to see the look on my wife's face when it comes in.

I get the feeling that ZPI doesn't really know that much about turbos anyways. The only time they respond on SL is to defend their products, NEVER to help out with turbo questions or issues.

I'd would not get the AEM UEGO. IIRC it can not be calibrated, and I have seen some horror stories of it being very wrong.

Im sorry but how can one determine the knowledge of another person by the few statments they put on some forums... You have never honestly talked with anybody at ZPI.. have you? Hold a personal converstaion on AIM or the phone with Kenny or Sean... and I bet they will blow your mind on the knowledge they have about turbos, fabrication and cars... You shouldnt make such bold statments with out knowing whats true..

Now back on topic...

^^^ My exact thoughts on the Zpi comment. Trust me I was the number 1 or 2 Zpi hater on this board awhile back. Kenny and ZPI has made steps to improve and thats why they are involved in this project
