I can't seem to find a fitting to T off of the motor into 3 female fittings. 1 for the oil feed line to the turbo, 1 for my autometer electronic oil pressure gauge, and 1 so I can continue the use of the stock oil pressure dummy light.

The sender unit that came with the gauge looks like it should thread into the motor just fine, but it simply doesn't and I've seen this is a common problem. I've ordered this, http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/1-8-n...g-adapter.aspx, and tryed it, but it doesn't want to thread into the motor either. Though the gauge sender unit threads into it just fine...

Does anybody know where I can find a fitting that fits??

I'm going to be installing the descendant kit next month and I want the install to go as smoothly as possible...

few ways to do this...Ill see if i have a pic of what iv done in the past...I like to have my oil pressure sending unit installed on a t-fitting on the head, it doesnt give you an accurate reading of the engine oil pressure but it does give you a good idea of the pressure that is making it to the turbo. Like i said the readings will not be as accurate, it just reads slightly lower. once you get used to the readings you will know if anything is wrong.

 

I used two 1/8th npt threaded couplers and two 1/8th npt female T fittings

on my new setup i went with summit racing for my fittings, they have everything you need as far as fittings go.

 

fyi the threads on the head are not exactly 1/8th npt but they are close enough to get a couple of threads in and with a little teflon tape will work out. you can use an 1/8th npt tap on the head but you MUST BE VERY CAREFULL not to get shavings into the head.

 

^^well maybe thats why the part I currently have that I linked in my first post is not fitting....so you're saying if I put teflon tape on the threads it will thread into the head? It really doesn't want to thread in straight, If I get a couple threads threaded its going in completely crooked and I don't want to cross thread it...


If the female threads aren't exactly 1/8 npt what are they? Some goofy size that toyota specifically made?

 

im not sure of the exact size...could have sworn someone had said they were 1/8th BPT not NPT. and no just because you have teflon on the threads doesnt mean it will thread in any better. if your careful enough you can tap the hole out to 1/8th npt. you will need to use some grease on the tap so help catch some of the shavings and a q-tip to get the rest out of the head.

For real. That would make things so much easier. This part of connecting oil lines and sensors to the block has always been an underlying PITA.

or look for a local hose shop, any city/town should have at least one.

ask them for air hose npt fittings

they are all the same as long as htey are brass
