14 PSI.. Stock Motor... 2 Step.. Slicks... NEW engine pics

That right!

Today at moroso! I killed the stock motor finally!

First pass at 12.6 i was flying the first 1/8th mile and i felt it slow down up top!

Get back to pits it idling wierd.. cools down, mess with tune.. idles good!

Next run doing my burn out... Blew the rod closest to the belts right out of the block, breaking the a/c compresor, oil pan, water jacket, thermostat housing.

Im thining now that i bent the rod on the pass before and doing the burn out she gave the rest of the way!

14 psi on stock motor is to much for everydayers!

So ill be outta boost for a week or two :(

Videos soon! 1 of the 12.6 pass and one of the blown motor burn out!

theres the two videos! AHHH

New motor pics!

m6ar2cel6oTC 07-06-2009 02:26 AM

yuh chad called me and told me! sucks man! atleast it lasted this long. lol didnt think it would have lasted as long as you had it pushing that much power.

Ace83 07-06-2009 02:30 AM

well it did what it was tasked to do and did its job.. you were pushing on its threshold, but at least it has been fun.. It would have been better though if the block didnt get messed up

draxcaliber 07-06-2009 02:30 AM

oh, and i thought that 14 psi, and 362 whp was safe on the stock engine now? whoops!

Resu 07-06-2009 02:31 AM

lol yea and not to mention on slicks. But I'm glad this isn't the end for the scion.

Ace83 07-06-2009 02:32 AM

your car is calling on your built motor

ElevationTC 07-06-2009 02:35 AM

yea.. Ill tell you the car was really pulling good on the highway all morning!

i think it was the first day the weather wasint affecting my tune and i was putting down my numbers! those stock rods just could not take that HP

Resu 07-06-2009 02:39 AM

What are your plans as of now?

I had 60k.. when i tuned at 14.. blew today at 71000

ive been on 100 shot of zex supercharged 12 psi and now turbo 14psi..

id say i owe that motor! it did more then i wanted!

all4degame 07-06-2009 02:54 AM

That was one hell of a motor man! I'm really ____ed mine crapped out with 31k miles all motor and 250 miles on 6psi with only a handful of WOT pulls.

ElevationTC 07-06-2009 02:55 AM

videos up!

crush02342002 07-06-2009 02:55 AM

all4degame 07-06-2009 03:03 AM

Heart drop a little bit when you pop it? haha

try your best to take note of everything, id really like to see exactly how it failed (at point of the connecting rod snaped ie close to the crank side or piston side ect.)

all i'm saying was that you were boasting about how the tune was fine for the stock motor and daily driving. 10k miles and a blown engine is not a safe amount of whp to put down if your turbo tc is a daily driver. granted, there are people who have blown their engine making less power. this is clearly a demonstration that even with a good tune, the stock engine can't take this much power for very long.

umm i think he was trying to blow it bro.. reason why he would have a fuly built motor waiting to be installed... yeaa

thendawg 07-06-2009 03:34 AM

Yea no one thought you could make ~370whp on the stock block lol i cant believe this lasted 10k miles lol - thats crazy man just shows how strong the 2az is - making nearly tripple the power it was designed to make! lol

m6ar2cel6oTC 07-06-2009 04:01 AM

370whp on a mustang dyno! on a dynojet alot more! your back home mike? how did you get your car out the track? tow truck?

youngflyer 07-06-2009 04:09 AM

christian....draxx even if he wasnt at 14....boosting alone with slicks and launch control....your just asking to blow your motor. Im sure it would have lasted a lot longer if he hadnt been pushing it that hard!

KillerZX2 07-06-2009 04:13 AM

Hopefully you didn't damage anything on the combstion side of the engine and have parts go into the turbo...

What kinda PSI and HP numbers you looking to push on this new built block?

Ace83 07-06-2009 05:02 AM

lol the rod broke! combustion side is damaged! nice vids, the second one is a teaser!

AdmirN 07-06-2009 05:34 AM

WOW, Ill be watching for the pics... Also will be looking out for that built motor.

im pushing 10psi and making 284whp... and since ive had my kit on ive driven to SoCal once, Oklahoma once, and Arizona once, (about to make another trip to AZ this week... and im from SF bayArea... and i havent had any problems so far *knocks on wood* haha ut im guessing its al about how rough u are on the car i guess...

hmm this thread is now making me reconsider going up to 300whp on a stock block... now im worried.. haha..

Ace83 07-06-2009 06:02 AM

i wouldnt risk it going over 320 if you dont have a block ready to go in

AdmirN 07-06-2009 06:11 AM

He put down 362 on a mustang dyno. So, Dont forget that different dynos put out different numbers along with other factors...

Mrsanchez925 07-06-2009 06:15 AM

so if i were to go up to 300 ... i should be fine?? lol

Im rarely WOT and i only usually boost on the free way..

SoFloTC 07-06-2009 06:27 AM

i wud say under 330whp ur fine.

BlackKnight 07-06-2009 09:41 AM

300 whp would be safe but no more for a stock block to continue to bash it. I couldn't have a stock engine pushing 300 or more it would blow for sure after my weekends at the track, I can't wait to be finished and quit here so I can enjoy those again.

m6ar2cel6oTC 07-06-2009 11:56 AM

like chad said 330whp at the most i was on 326whp and i burnt a piston ring. i didnt bend a rod and reason why i fryed my rings was cause before i got tuned good i ran with a messed up tune! and i beat the crap out of my car lol.

chicotunner07 07-06-2009 12:26 PM

wow!

i already knew who it was just by reading the title, lol

IN FOR CARNAGE PICS!!
lol

gingles 07-06-2009 01:53 PM

ElevationTC 07-06-2009 01:58 PM

LOL

Im glad people think im this crazy HAHAHa!

I trailered the car home.. and i will be starting the tear down this week!

I promise you guys this is only the beggining!

Also got my hands on a kenny tran intake manifold!

Just takes some time guys!

gingles 07-06-2009 02:04 PM
