Ive definitely heard 2.5 is ok unless your going for high boost then you want 3 or itll be restrictive. Theirs a couple threads around here where people talk about that run a little search

You can run 2.5 exhaust no problem, if 3" exhaust is not in your budget no big Deal. 3" exhaust lets your turbo "breathe" alittle easier, you will see better power numbers on a 3" exhaust.

^ I agree with the above comment. I'm boosted and have a 2.5" exhaust right now and I can tell on the big end that my tC really wants to get rid of that exhaust and like the above post said, I'm sure I'll have a little bit more pull/power higher in the powerband once I get the 3" setup.

my 60-1 is on a .63 ar turbine and it pullls like a bat outta hell up top compared to the 50 trim i had with a .63 all this being on a 2.5 exhaust i dont plan on doing away with it niether considering i will already be spending lots of money in the near months for a new maf a new primary o2 and a new tune the 2.5 still allows me to reach my goals which is 330 on 13 psi this being on a tune i had for my 50 trim with just fuel adjustments cant wait for the timing to be on =D

IMO just go with a 3" exhaust and be done. Boostin these cars gets addicting and what if you get another dd and decide to up the boost even more.

Make sure to use a synthetic oil seeing that boost'd cars break down the oil faster than N/A cars. Personally I use Mobil 1 10w-30 but thats just my preference. I also change the oil a little more frequent cause i go to the drag strip once a month from spring to fall (April-September)....usually I change it at 2,500 miles rather than 3k.

3 inch exhaust work great. I'm running a PTuning 3 inch exhaust and it will be the last exhaust I will ever need. Anything after that would be just a dump to the atmosphere like Rado...lol.

difference is about 20whp on lower boost levels. Switching turbine housings won't do much more than shift powerband a few hundred rpm.

Not sure about that type of oil but my kit has 30k on it using Mobil 1 synthetic so its proven to work because my kit still runs great and I don't burn a lot of oil.

I had a 2.5 inch down pipe for a while moved to 3inch and noticed a faster spooltime and I could just tell the turbo breathed alot better. You might as well go 3inch dp with a electric dump if your going that route or just do a full 3inch exhaust.
