Default 2AZ block threshhold

hey all im getting ready to build a block, for my tc and i need to know what the the threshold of the bock is due to high heat and insane hp numbers.....im looking to get about 820 to the wheels out of stock block...BUT!! of course i have all internals, crackshaft, valve train, head pacakge, pistons, connecting rods the whole works. i have blew my engine twice due to faulty tuning, as well as boost spikes...so you guys watch that stuff, but anyways if anyones got some hints and tips please get back to me asap...

this should be in the "Forced Induction" section.

also, Dezod and ZPI probably have the most experience w/ the 2AZ-FE motor, so they should be able to help u out.

good luck

I don't care what you do to a tC; you're never getting 820 on the ground with this car unless you rebuild the suspension from scratch and put massive-___ tires on it. Sell the car and buy something big and rear-drive, or build a tube chassis car and slap some scion body panels on it.

You're crazy, and something about this whole idea screams joke, rice, and something between the two.

^^^ AGREED

sorry man it would be nice to get that much HP but really if you want those numbers look into getting another car. What if you look into getting around 300-400?

280....easily can happen, 820....never

Beside the car is hard to drive with 300hp. FWD is not meant to have that much power.

To achieve these powers levels you will need to sleeve the block. I would suggest our stage 2 componets with our stage 2 head....Cams, intake manifold will be come an issue as well as throttle body at the mid 500 range.

To say that this is not possible is incorrect....noone including us have attempted this much power with a 2azfe. We as a community simply do not know the limits yet....

If you are serious and want to move forward with this project give us a call and I am sure we can get you setup in the right direction.

Thanks

For the money it would take this little engine to get near that, you might as well buy an old Chevelle with a 350, spend about 4000 on the car and 2500 on the motor.....you'll be closer to that 800 hp than you will be with that tC.

yeah it is definitely possible... they have 1.8L GSR motors puttin that down at the track all day... so its possible, i'm just hoping and praying you don't intend to keep that car as a DD...

http://www.quakerstate.com/pages/mot...s/Partners.asp

go there and read under kenny tran racing

"Kenny and his team are ready to ride their 1000 horsepower Honda to a championship, and Q® Racing Oil will be the lifeblood of their simply awesome tuner extreme engine."

and a B18C1 is no jet engine.....

TurboTC_02, all I can say just do it cuz it just a project you are trying to experiment with and this a good idea to try something. Never know it might works and you might be the first guy that did the work but I believe it like TONS of money to spend. Go for it and I'll watch this post and see what happen. Good luck and do your best. Like I said, it just a experiement you wanted to do.

The B18C1 is also much more of a race ready engine. The 2AZ was built from the ground up for reliability and fuel economy. Toyota overbuilt the engine for what it was made for which was lucky for us since that raises the threshold of the engine but that means it's merely "ok" for power application.

The 2AZ has ductile iron sleeves, forged rods, ceramic coated pistons, and forged crankshaft and a host of things. However, the block is still open decked, the rods are thin, and the pistons have a poor ringland for higher power.

So in other engines, 1200 hp is pretty doable (consider numerous 1000+ hp 2S-GEs out there) they simply aren't comparable to the 2AZ.
