That just means it's nice and broke in
Do you have maitnance records for the car ( oil changes and any repairs done to it). Any after market parts on the car? Was it beat on previously? Older or younger owner before? You may not know the answers to any but it is worth a try.. You can boost an engine with 1k and have issues... Yours may just not last as long as a new engine would.. but you can always do things to help with longevity.

I say go for it. Look at it this way. FOR THE MOST PART, someone that is driving 40K miles in one year is probably commuting to work and is therefor a responsible person. SO the beating on the car is probably low.
Thats kinda a stereotype. But how many street racing kids do you see driving a distance to work?

Nick06, you make a valid point. I'm going to get a mechanic to check it over, and then I'm going to do some pre-turbo upgrades and then I'll be taking the plung. How the new question is, which turbo, it'll probably be ZPI or Dezod, I'm definately going with one with fuel management, and an intercooler, I'd like to run about 9psi, and I'd like the most out of it. Are there any turbo'd tC's in Houston that can give me an idea at our altitude what they're running hp/trq wise?
Thanks in advance,
J

well aside from telling you to just "get it checked" I'll give you some specifics
1) Compression Test
2) Check your oil pan and filter for contaminants
3) Check all service records available to you to make sure routine maintenance was completed
4) Drive another TC if possible with as close to the same mods as you as possible and feel for any noticeable variables
5) Leak Down Test
6) If you are REALLY worried about the engine just go buy a spare for $1200 bucks like somebody I know
