If you didn't get reflashed, the dealer will owe you a new motor in a few days.

OMG people! You guys got the s/c WITHOUT a reflash at the DEALER? If that is the case, you got SCREWED!!! Holy crap, you guys should've known this kind of stuff DAYS ago! RIGHT when I got my tC and read my first Scion magazine from Scion, I read about the s/c and it mentioned the reflash and ever since then, I've always known that if I were to get a s/c, the dealer needs to reflash the ECU so the engine can take that kind of boost. It's like, common sense.... if u people thought it was okay to boost without a reflash, wow... Icenine should be very sad...

I'm getiing my S/C intalled at my local scion shop (im adding the NST 9.5 pulley, MMW S/C, Forge 007 BPV thats why) the shop has a contract with Hamer Toyota so that i can get it reflashed, but i would have to drive it down to Hamer after getting it installed by the shop. can this cause any type of detonation?

You engine is going to blow if you do that. Better to get the S/C installed either AT the dealership or have it towed to the dealership after being installed at your local Scion shop. Don't boost and drive without a reflash, friends don't let friends blow motors.

stay out of boost, your motor would last another 100k without the reflash. dont worry about it.

the person who posted get it towed obviously knows very little about cars.

I don't think you need to drive the car to the dealer to get it reflash. Just bring ECU to the dealer and they can reflash it for you.

no you wouldn't have to reflash it again after putting the pulley on if u already got it flashed when u got the s/c installed.

NST even specifies on their site that you MUST have the trd reflash if you are going to be using one of their s/c pullies.
