go with exhaust first.. you will need to free your back pressure first and gain more power and reduce your EGTs too

Definately exhaust first. meth injection may give you modest gains at your current boost level because as it evaporates in the intake stream it cools the air for a denser charge. However, it would most likely be the same as going from 6.5 to 7 psi without meth, not that noticeable.

An exhaust will give you an immediate improvement. Your turbo runs off of a pressure differential between exhaust gasses leaving the engine and free atmosphere at the end ouf the exhaust. The lower you can get the pressure on the exhaust side, the greater the differential, giving you a quicker spool and less loss, so the turbo should make noticeable more power at the same psi.

The main advantage of meth is not it's cooling effect though. The alcohol acts as an octane booster, effictive letting you run a leaner AF/R without detonation. To lean it out, you can either cut fuel, or add boost. The preferred route is increasing boost level. Also, I is capitol and there is a thing calleda period, it looks like this ".". Seriously, I had to read your post 3 times to figure out what you were asking.

What is your turbo setup, who is your tuner, and what transmission do you have?

An axle-back exhaust won't help you much. The best would be turbo-back, 3", but would most likely need to be custom. You'll still pick up gains from a cat-back system but they won't be as significant. Dezod and PTuning both carry one for s-pipe back that should bolt to the stock or another aftermarket s-pipe.

Edit: Was incorrect on the PTuning turbo-back fitment.

Actually, our 3" turbo-back system will work with all turbo kits. As long as the downpipe on your turbo kit mate up to a factory s-pipe, then our turbo-back system will bolt right up.

Thanks for the clarification.

Shane, if you have further questions you can always just PM PTuning direct, they've been helpful with all of my turbo questions.

So Ptunings turboback is really in essence a cat back exhaust from 2.5 to 3"?? I figured turboback included the dp and was 3" all the way thru...clarification please

The PTUNING 3" Turbo-Back system includes:

*3" S-Pipe
*3" Cat-Back System
*All v-band clamps

Again, as long as the turbo kit downpipe that you are currently running mate up to a factory OEM S-Pipe, then it will work fine with our 3" Turbo-Back exhaust system.

Hope this help.

I don't know what the number is for gas engines but I know diesel will lose 2 hp per pound back pressure. Can anyone shed the light if this is true for gas too? Sorry not to thread jack.. Pretty sure water meth won't add power in itself. It will allow you to be more aggressive with timing and the amount of boost you can run. I don't think you will see much gain with water meth alone. Anyone else please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm curious as I am putting my water meth on right now just to prolong my stock internals.

do exhaust first. you need to free up the exhaust and let your turbo breathe better. then later you can hit a meth shot, it cools ur intake charge making the fuel mixture denser. more power. also your turbo will let like it, combination with the exhaust you'll have more power at lower psi.

with diesel you should use propane or even nitrous.
