Default Act or Spec clutch?

After giving it a go with trying to put my own kit together and that blowing up in my face. I will be purchasing a Dezod s1 kit in 3 weeks or so and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a clutch setup. I know this ? has been beatin to a pulp already, but hey it couldn't hurt to hear it again. I've read of the horror stories with some of the Competition clutch setups and will be avoiding them.

Also if anyone knows of a place you would recommend where I can get a good reliable tune for the fic in south florida, that would be greatly appreciated.

ACT for clutch and you can ask around to see if mike (elevation_tc i think that is his screen name at least) is still doing street tunes.

I would go with SPEC all the way, they make the application very specific to the car, not some one-off that can be used on multiple applications, and if you get the flywheel as well, it is machined to the tightest tolerances available. ACT is good, but SPEC is dedicated

I was looking into running that one, but it says it only holds up to 310ftlbs and I want to make sure if I get close to 300ftlbs or a little more it doesn't start to slip. How does the clutch pedal feel? That is another thing I was wondering about.

I have a clutch masters Stage 4 6-puck from ptuning, and I can vouch for the strength of this clutch. It's handled 20 psi slips all day and never complained once. The pedal feel is nice and smooth, it just takes a while to get used to the newfound release strength. However, I've heard good things from ACT, of course, and have personally also run a SPEC clutch on a few of my other cars and can vouch for the pedal feel and strength of those as well.

I would say go with whichever meets your power needs (pucks, sprung-unsprung, etc.) most accurately cause I'm sure you won't be disappointed by the pedal feel or smoothness.

another good thing about ACT is they are now making their clutches application specific. instead of reusing 3SGTE clutches on our cars.

Thanks a lot guys! I should be purchasing both in less than 2 weeks, then the only problem I have is getting the fic tuned. I know the dezod kit comes with a basemap but I really want a tune before I start to stomp on it. Anyone know of the best way to get a hold of elevationtc? I hear he's the man to see for the fic.
