Default AEM F/IC help needed...

Hey all.. this is my story:

Recently I was able to purchase a fic and harness. I installed it today, i tapped the same line where my boost gauge is for the boost pressure on the fic, and was able to mimic a basemap i found on the aem forums. My questions and concerns are:

1) I noticed that although my car was idling, the gauge option on my laptop was pinned to the right as if my rpms were maxed out.

2) It takes my car 4-8 turns before it actually starts. And it backfires on the start. After the car is idle for a few minutes, it then starts to rollercoaster the rpms and feels like its about to shut off. My afrs also go rich and lean.

3) I am currently running the greddy kit with the 440cc injectors. I followed the calculation to find the deviation from stock, and i filled the entire fuel map with the same #. Was that the correct thing to do?

I am currently working on a basemap from stock using the other maps as a guide. If you have a map youd like to share.. please by all means help me out. Aside from the tuning, do any of you guys think there may be a problem with the connection itself?

I know I am a noob when it comes to tuning, and I know I should probably take it to get tuned by a professional, but id really like to learn.

Thanks in advance

Your about to blow your motor the ____ up. Stop driving it and get it TOWED somewhere that knows what THEY are doing. Pay the 2 or 3 hours worth of dyno time to get it done correctly.

You did not calibrate your EMS.

I posted the same information in a different thread:

The harness is fine. Both problems are caused by lack of calibration when you first plugged in the unit.

Without the engine running, you will need to program the TPS. Click ECU at the top, then Calibration to program the TPS signal. It will tell you to push completley down on the throttle pedal, click ok, then to verify that your foot is off the pedal completely, then click ok. It needs to learn the voltages of your TPS system to properly control your car. That's step one.

Step 2 - There is an RPM calibration setup as well. You will need to hold a steady rpm and click ok. Once you do that, the AEM will correctly read the RPM signal.

Hope that helps.

Also, do you have an AEM wideband?
