I recently installed the FIC software on my laptop, but when doing the setup, it asks me to uninstall usb drivers for some reason I dont know why....
so i read the manual and i 'installed' the new usb drivers off the website the 2.02 or something like that...
only thing is that when i go to install them a black box pops up (kinda resembles DOS command prompt), and it stays on the screen for 1 second then goes away....nothing tellss me if it installed or not or if its an error.
i checked the AEM forums and a few ppl complained about this same problem, but nobody had answers
just wondering if anyone experienced this..
i have no way to test if it works yet since i didnt install my kit yet
but id like to have it up and running so i can install my base map when i install the kit and have no problems
thanks guys

Vista? XP?
for some reason it does ask you to uninstall the driver, but i think that might be a typo error on their part since it did install when i got that message.
Make sure it is disconnected when you run the installer, then connect it and if it "found new hardware" tell it to scan the install directory for the driver - and you will be fine. The F/IC must be powered on in the car to get to this point! You have to load your base map after installing the f/ic.
I would also suggest going on aempower.com forums and getting the newest version of the software.

Vista gave me some problems, but it works. when you plug it in just have the add new hardware wizard search the directory for the driver. It will work.
btw dont go to ripp - they RIPPED me off... gave me my car back detonating, lean, and check engine lights! Perry said he will never tune a F/IC again. He didnt like it.. (mostly because he didnt understand it)

I had my f/ic on my lap and I was able to connect my laptop to it and load up a map before we ever installed it in my car.
