Default AEM FIC AFR dataloging issues

Well i have been trying to do a little street tuning with the FIC to compensate for my recent engine changes. Im reading AFR's just fine on my UEGO gauge but when i try to use the datalog function on the FIC it only records AFR's up to about 3500RPM then all of a sudden its showing readings all over the place of numbers that are impossible. im talking about numbers like 1100:1 even though my AEM UEGO gauge shows about 12.0:1. Anyone know of what the problem might be or if theres a fix for this to record AFR's correctly? By the way i have already tried updating to software version 3.05 like the aem forums say to do but still no good.

hmmm...intresting...i want to say it may have to do with the scaling maybe on the aux gauge (wideband display on the fic). try this out. open fic program on pc, open current tune, connect to fic, bring gauges up, click on aux gauge/wideband, you should get a box with voltage vs. afr.

(trying to do this from memory so forgive me if im off a little)
in the voltage colum place 0 in the first box at the top, then place 5 in the last box of the voltage colum. highlight the entire voltage colum, right click, and click on calculate. in afr column place 10 in the box at the top, last box place 17. highlight the afr column and right click, click on calculate.

this will get you in the ball park.
now to refine it.

with the car running check to see how far off your reading are from gauge to gauge (fic gauge and wideband gauge)
if fic is reading leaner vs. real wideband then adjust the last number in the afr column, highlight the afr column and right click, click on calculate. keep doing this till you find the correct afr per voltage.

now compair your table (afr per voltage table for aux gauge/wideband) to the table thats given in the aem wideband instructions (they list a table with values vs output voltage). if you notice your values are way way off from what it states then it could be an indication that you may have a loose connection/corrosion, defective gauge, damaged 5volt input on the fic, or possible short.

i know what your talking about but iv already calibrated the FIC for the UEGO input so i know the calibration is not the problem. If i keep it at about 1/4 throttle or less itll show correct AFR's all the way to redline on the FIC and datalogs. Its when i give it more than 1/4 throttle that i loose my AFR reading on my datalogs after about 3500RPM. It just goes way off the scale even though my UEGO gauge shows correct AFR's. It really sucks cause im just having to take a good guess of what cells to adjust to get my desired AFR's at open loop. Any other ideas?

well youv got the latest software, fic calabrated, then its damaged fic, wideband, or bad wireing.

damn i hope not. The FIC is brand spanken new. I guess ill try and log the voltage coming out of the uego to see if thats the issue. If not then i guess it could be something with the FIC.

make sure youre connected to the 5v analog datalog output wire form the wideband, not the serial datalog wire. if you hook up to the serial wire itll act crazy haha I know this first hand

Nah the wires are all connected correctly so i know thats not the problem. White wire from the Uego is connected to the FIC. The serial output wire is blue wich is not connected on my setup.

just a stab in the dark but maybe the file is somehow being corrupted when its saved. Have you tried a different laptop?

i havent tried that but i dont think thats the issue either. Today i tried datalogging again but this time i noticed that my AFR's on the FIC are doing the same thing weather im datalogging or not. My gauge AFR's are good but its the AFR's on my FIC that are having the problems. Only other thing i can think of besides a fouled Gauge or FIC is possibly improperly installed software or currupt software for the FIC.
