Default AEM Standalone EMS-4..

I just got the AEM Universal EMS 4 for my First Gen tC and I was wanting to know if anyone has this installed this unit in there car already?
Also since it is a universal harness has anyone put it on them selves to give me pointers on connecting the wires.

I really don't want to start hacking away into my harness not really knowing much. I would take it to a shop to do it but here in the Chicago area they charge a ton of cash just to wire everything up.

I have it running in my car. This is NOT a PNP or easy DIY install. As far as I know I was the first to try it on the TC and it took about a week to get it working right. (Granted I only put in an hour or two a day on it after work) Alot of that was the startup cal and sync however which I now have all figured out so I have no problem giving out my base cal to help someone get started, but you better have quite extensive automotive wiring, tuning, and diagnostic experience. I also am in the process of a writeup, however it got put on hold when work took over my life for a couple months. But keep in mind it will NOT be a DIY or step by step, just general info for you to put to use, such as the wiring diagram I drew up and what parts/sensors I used to make it work.

im deff gonna keep an eye out for this cuz man shops are charging outrageous cash.
but i actually have some experiense with wiring nd all that stuff its just looking at my harness and all this work is damn intimating. do you hook up the wires by the ecu plugs under the glove compartment or you just got to find the wires all over the place?

It looks like Boomslang has a harness for the EMS4. I can't find anyone using the EMS4 harness on our application though. Is Boomslang generally a good product?

Boomsland is a good product. Thendawg is successfully using the EMS-4 and used the universal harness which he wired up himself.

I don't have the skillset to wire this up myself. I am thinking the PNP harness from Boomslang is my best bet for using the EMS4.

If you have the extra $400 then go for it. I actually acquired the EMS-4 from the OP and it came with the universal harness so I'm gonna roll with that.

how did you power it on for the first time? I have mine hooked up in the car and laptop. In the aem program I go to connect ecu and it says to make sure it’s powered on.

Default Aem ems4 won’t connect to laptop

I have a 2006 Scion tC that I got a turbo kit for everything is done but I can’t get the ems4 to connect to my laptop to tune it. It has the boomslang plug and play harness that’s brand new. It says trying to connect then comes up extraction error. Any ideas how to fix this problem? Any help appreciated. Also can post pictures if needed

Download and install Series 2 AEM Tuner software version 3.2.
When you open the software, make sure to right click the icon and "Run as Admin"
Make sure to select an EMS-4 workspace and then exit out from loading/opening a calibration
Next, go to ECU, scroll down to ECU connection preferences and select USB.
Once you have done this, key ON ignition power, plug the USB into your laptop and then attempt to connect.
It should connect or it will get stuck "identifying ECU"
If it connects, Good! problem solved. If it gets stuck "Identifying ECU" / I want you to unplug the USB and quickly plug it back in.
