Default ALL GREDDY TURBO KIT OWNERS

okay so heres the deal, i decided to save for a turbo and wanted the greddy kit, but today at jones beach VIP thingy a kid had one and took me for a ride, and i wasnt impressed with the power at all, does any1 with this kit have videos or dyno numbers for the kit? on the manual not auto. but the kid did say he was running stock exhaust maybe that was doin it, any input would help, and dont get mad at me for not doin a search for greddy videos cause ill get like 5 million results with the word greddy in it, thanks again

Stock exhaust suffocates any turbo kit. Just a bolt on greddy kit nets a consistant 240whp on 5spds. Add an exhaust and you have a nice gain. I cant wait to dyno mine when it arrives...(again)

From what I see....just about every turbo kit out there produces about 240ish whp on a stock car. Add Exhaust to a turbo and your going to get at least 15-20 whp if not more.

Even at 240 though, you should of felt it more then what your saying. What are you use to driving? Just the N/A tC?

Hey, I have a greddy kit too and I like it very much, but it would be nicer if it had an external waste gate. I had mycar dyno at 238whp and 267lbs of torque to the wheels. I am pretty impressed by the kit, but I will do customization to get it to work with an external wastegate.

Sorry you wernt impressed with the power of my car.
but there is nothing wrong with the greddy kit and i told you that stock exhaust its killing be but at the same time i know my car is by no means slow ive taken a mustang gt, srt-4 (modded ) and a s2000 with intake and exhaust (we have raced over 10 times with same results i get 1.5 cars from a 25mph roll.

also i know one other person with the exact same setup as me and he dynoed 25whp over me on the same exact dyno tuned by perry at Ripp Modds only differance is the greddy evo2 axle back he has.

Then again ive been ridding around alot in a 290whp evo 9 alot for 2 weeks and i feel my car is slow too

I went to a local shop to see if they could order the greddy kit and they said yes for $2670. Then on his computer he pulled up some page that showed the times for a GReddy'd tC. It showed a 0-60 of 5.7 and 1/4 mile of 14.2 for a 5spd tC.

I have heard REALLY mixed opinions about the GReddy kit. I have heard some say they love it to death and it's comparable to any kit out there...........Others, say it is hell sent. It sucks, lots of quirks with the turbos themselves and sich. One gentleman called me yesterday and we talked for about 20 minutes regarding his GReddy kit and all the problems he is having. He did state that the power numbers on his 5 speed where about 230whp & 262wtq on 8 PSI, if I recall.

when i went for a ride in it i couldnt tell if he was flooring it or not, it was deff alot faster than stock. but it did have a sick bov sound hks ssq just like freestyle said i did not hear the tiresbreak loose either i was just hoping for more but i guess exhaust and all of that really could help that out. not bashing ur car i thought it was sick i wish i could have seen u run the kid with the tnetics kit there that day with open dump that would have been somthing to see.

Hey well i really cant complain about the greddy kit my only problem with it was the half ___ instructions. The quality of the the kit it very good everythings fits and it leaves you choices for engine management, the turbo is sized very well for the engine its pretty much the same as zpi's turbo 18G = to Big 16G, Emanage works fine with the tc's ecu no problems there but you definattly need a exhaust to get the gases out. the manifold is very nice all the welds are incredible. Also my tires wernt braking out most likely because as i told both of you i was running less boost then the car was tuned for i had turned it down the day before but it is back to 9.5 psi now. 1 psi seems to make a nice differnace also the car is very smooth and with no exhaust it pruduces the feeling that you arnt going very fast but we really only did 1st,2nd and part of third gear the car only starts to come into its own in third and 4th gears. in my opinion there is alot more to makeing a car fast then just bolting on a turbo kit. to anyone thinking of saving and just bolting it on to go fast there are otherthings such as cluch, tires, exhaust and someway of controlling the engines movement (mounts or damnpner) then there is suspension to support the power you are now makeing. its is not as easy as most people imagine to mantain an properly setup a boosted car. This is all just my opinion thanks

P.S. Paul i will be ordering that dezod turbo exhuast from you soon and your customer service is top notch and you have been very helpful thanks.

how difficult is it to install the greddy kit considering the instruction is poor?

i have done oil/brake changes, installing stereo systems, installing intake, suspension, etc, nothing as major as an entire turbo system. is this a DIY job, or no?

Its just like any other tC turbo kit. Take your time, 1 thing at a time. If its your first time, you will learn a lot. The hardest part would be the assembly of turbo/manifold/downpipe. After that its pretty much a cakewalk.
