You gain a paper weight on your front end. "bling" factor might go up a bit? I'm just kidding by the way. Those things are really hokey man. I wouldn't put one on my car if you paid me. This has been covered a million times on various other forums I visit. This is along the lines of a "typhoon" fuel saver and the "10 wheel horsepower" resistor modification. Too good to be true. Just because a fan moves XXX amount of cfm air doesn't mean it can do crap for compressing the air. The turbo makes power by compressing the intake charge so you can burn more fuel and make more power. The turbo hits a point of diminishing return because the charge gets so hot you start to get detonation. This is why a turbo system is typically intercooled to provide a COLDER dense charge which helps prevent detonation and allow more air to be shoved through the motor. More air + more fuel = more power in a nutshell. I'm not going into crazy detail but you get the point. Maximum Boost by Corky Bell is a great book if you would like to learn a lot of general and technical information regarding turbochargers. The link below will give a nice explaination on how a turbo works:

Best Regards,

Well I am pretty sure this is a different type of electric supercharger.... I believe this is from the kit from this site (http://www.boosthead.com/) which requires bigger alternators and more batteries (kind of like a major stereo setup). I am pretty sure this is not BS but it is not like it was cheap either. I would definitely like to see what the power cure is like with this setup. I believe boost peaks early but then tapers off as RPM rises so I would venture to guess that the power curve would look very flat. It would be very interesting to see.

^^^Thats correct. It's forcing air into the motor even if the TB is closed, theres still the idle air that gets forced instead of being sucked in on free will. It messes up the Fuel mappings, the pressure readings, and ultimately prematurely wearing out parts.

If you read anything from the site http://www.boosthead.com/
You'd know that this Supercharger can be turned on at the flip of a switch, hense not constantly blowing air, even at idle. Check out the dyno's on that website, and look at the power curve.

Obviously there's a reason why they don't use this item on race cars or as a factory option on production vehicles...
This item is for people who think putting a "Type R" sticker on their car makes it cool

I see what you mean... but nitrous is very popular, and they dont use that on production vehicles...people still use it.
