Another Blown Motor = (

I need to say this first the kit was Installed Properly and all jumpers and Check Valves were installed correctly. I was on my way to get it tuned when I was at a stop sing. I got out about 20 feet while looking at my “not in boost & ¼ or ½ throttle” boost gauge then whammy!!! The gauge reads 13 psi. When I let go of the gas 1 sec later it read 15 psi then BOOOOM!!!!!!!! I Clutch imminently then saw a Fat streak of oil in my rear view mirror. The poor car didn’t even make it across the intersection, had to push it while it still momentum.

Any way’s hears what I got with the kit

Greddy Turbo Kit
E-Manage Ultimate
440cc Rc injectors
Dezod PNP Harness
HKS SSQV Blow Off Valve
Running Greddy’s newest base map.

I still don’t know what happed except maybe a boost spike?

I’m having the waste gate actuator tested before I put it back on my new motor. Also I decided to put in and new clutch and flywheel and Maybe LSD while the motor is out.

I haven’t told them yet but I have been on and off the phone with them during the install. Just waiting to get the internal waste gate checked then ill call.

Keep us informed on what you find out about both... Because if you cant trust the wastgate acuator or the base tune for 10 miles then there are some serious issues that need to be dealt with... Best of luck man.. I hate to see any Scion down.. especially since you didnt even get to enjoy the boost at all...

Wow, I know people have been iffy about the tune that comes equipped with the GReddy units, but to only get 10 or so miles and KaAAAbooom is ridiculous. I think I will start to advise GReddy purchasers to install their kits AT the shop they are getting the dyno done at, instead of driving it the distance.

Albeit though, this sounds like that infamous wastegate problem people have been coming across, rather than your tune. Man, I don't know what GReddy's policy is in this situation. I would THINK that under this circumstance they would NOT screw you over on it. Then again, they could pull the ole...."You didn't have it installed by a recommended/authorized GReddy installer, there is nothing we can do for you"...routine.

For the record.....That's a BIG hole.

That's the primary reason why I always say rebuild the engine first.
Better luck next time around..
