Deffinetly let me know. Mine ges in Friday for the initial look over. Once they determine it toast, I am going to talk to the dealership and ask if they ill pu the man hours towards removing, instead of reinstalling. It should even out. Then they can just return the old one, and give me the new one. Then will sell the new one on here or a hug loss from the $3200 I payed for mine back on 05

I do not blame you for removing it. I would go down that road myself, but I do not have some of the stock parts any more. (Injectors, air box, etc.) I know I can go ahead and buy all that but hell I don't really want to go thru the trouble honestly. It is sad that TRD is putting out such a crap product. I really wonder how many people have had these issues as well.

On a side note I am sure my dealership is going to due everything in their power to make sure my work does not get warrantied.

Here is a video of my first blower making that lovley sound:

Go Dezod! Its the only way to go! you will not regret it!

I'd love to get my car lemon lawed.

People around here ask me if they should get the TRD s/c and I tell everyone to go turbo or not to even bother.
The whole ordeal I have gone thru has put a horrible taste in my mouth for TRD blowers.

Yeah, its really a pain in the ___. And bad timing. I am hoping to ship my car out in like 2-3 weeks. Need t get it to guam, so I have a ride once there. Now I have to deal with this crap.

Hopefully I can talk them into just returning it to stock. But that means a new ECU. And I cant afford the turbo right now, so I will be super slow for a bit. All show, no go BLOWS!!!

Welp, the dealership said I need another blower. This makes #3. First blew bearings, the one I have currently is leaking oil. Now it comes down to, do I take it off and go back N/A. Deal with another blower and see how long this new one lasts? Sell the car and call it a wash?

BAH!

Can't blame TRD for that, manufacturing falls in Vortech's lap. ...which I don't get because they're the leader in the field.

Does anyone know of any other platforms utilizing this particular blower?

I am not really playing the blame game on who's fault it is. Just frustrated at the situation honestly.

well, i can see how some people would be ____ed.
i mean i've had to go in for service a few times for stuff charger related since ive gotten the install but its been so smooth to get everything warrentied, i really can't complain.

i've had rattling issues with my heat shields, more rattling issues with faulty idler pullies, and the tensioner shock had also been faulty, then my cat went.
thats 4 or 5 visits right there i guess, but not had any trouble just taking it in and letting them do their thing to fix it, car runs great now. but i do know the techs and managers at my dealership personally since before i started using them,
and theres at least 3 other dealerships i have similar relationships with in my area, so i would say im privilaged to mainly having great expiriences with toyota.

and on the other hand a friend of mine would say the exact opposite here and curse the day he ever heard of toyota.

Glad to hear you actually fought the whole "warranty is void because of aftermarket parts". So many people have no clue that they can't void it unless they can get hard evidence that the aftermarket part caused the issue. I agree with everyone else, get some real boost in that thing .

This dealership that had to replace 4 s/c's so far is it the same guy installing all of them ? If so I think the guy is not installing them correctly.
Nick the sound that is coming from yours sounds like the pulley side bearings and the shaft is vibrating through the whole unit. Also the shaft bearings will rattle a little bit until warm. As far as the Vortech blower unit it is very well made, most of the problems I have seen are with the pulley side bearings.
It almost seems that if you want your s/c installed right you have to do it your self becuase half of the Toyota techs either don't know or care.
