another reason why BLOW THRU FTW!!!
ok so yesterday i was driving around town with my lovely girlfriend enjoying the snow, i decide to TRY to go into boost....it wasnt happening car wasnt going near boost...i was worried big time knowing my turbo is blown and all..
anyways i continue to dirve all day then i get home at night and discover i was missing a section of piping must of blown off during a pull the night before cuz i heard something go pop
''
so you ask why blow thru FTW?
well if i didnt have a blow thru setup i wouldnt have been able to have driven the car with a huge boost leak

Please do us a favor and part your turbo out and go back to stock. You have more issues than any other boosted person out there. There is no logical way you loose an entire piece of piping. It's great you had the blow-thru and were able to drive around, that's the purpose of having it, in case a coupler comes loose, but to loose an entire piece of piping and you heard a "pop" but didn't get out to check to see what it possibly could have been....FAIL
everyone has issues.. but we man up and fight through
try going through a built tranny, built motor, 3 turbos, 2 turbo rebuilds, having to get rid of a built head, 2 turbo setups, 2 custom downpipes, leaking meth, bad coilpacks, belt broke off while driving almost made me cook the head when i had it, CC stage 4 clutch blowing up, CC twin disc had to be taken out and modded, over 15 tunes, 70+ dyno pulls, months and months of fail shops, HID's blown out twice, new vrd fogs dont work, i had a shop put my ptuning exhaust midsection upside down so i scraped the ____ out of it on every speed bump for 2 weeks and its all yellow on that side of the exhaust lol, i mean it just goes on
but hey... i still love it lol! dont go back to stock youll kill urself, i couldnt imagine my tc without boost.. especially after all these troubles.. but ya BLOWTHRU FTW i love it hah

your comment is not needed....by an entire section of pip i meant the pipe came off the coupler it was still attached to the other end... and im not gonna go outside in 3 degree weather to check for a POP when all my gauges were still reading fine and car drove fine
the only other issue i have had was from half assed thing like not getting engine management, not getting a quality turbo, lil stuff
this was clearly just a popped coupler from the hot and cold expansion of my clamp due to weather out here
my car runs perfect it makes 243/245 at ptuning for only 6.25 psi id like to see u try that cuz they were even suprised
now sometime this week my turbo will be rebuilt and ill be good to go
lol, issues? like driving around for 3 months with a turbo tc that stalls when it comes to a stop? or how about the turbo coming loose from the manifold? or the downpipe coming loose off the turbo?

I still want to know how it just fell out of the coupler. You should be able to grab any pipe, and try to rip it out of the car without it even coming close to giving way.
Alright in this guys defense.
He may be a little mis guided and not have much experience when it comes to these things but the least we can do as a community is to help him see the light and point him in the right direction. While I agree it's a little frustrating reading many threads with a lot of bad info and poor workmanship it doesn't mean we should discourage someone or any member from learning. Simply make a suggestion that would be positive and help the guy out.
Make sure your couplers are tight, if they are not and you develop a boost leak you can damage the turbo in a short amount of time.

^^ agreed.
i'm not boosted but i know a thing or two. just like don said, make sure your couplers are tight. you can't hurt it by checking your work and making sure everything is good to go...bolts, vac lines, oil lines, blah blah blah
noob mistake but whatev man, ish happens.

yes i know about making sure the couplers are tight but i always look over this coupler because its the one thats directly on the turbo, the pipe that connects to it is not bead rolled, and seeing that the clamps was a worm clamp it def was loosening from hot/cold shocks
yea its funny how they are calling me a noob tho i have built 4 turbo kits my self and onyl had 2 china turbos go on me, my money is on these guys not tightening a single bolt on their cars but anyways i fixed it..
the point of this thread was not to complain bout my coupler blowing off it was to give people another incentive to switch over to blow thru setups

I had multiple worm clamps on my pipes because Todd the retard thought 6 clamps was enough for the entire kit, and never had problems with them loosening from temperature changes.
lol yea im pretty sure that it was working its way out when i had no bov ( causing huge psi readings in pipes when shifting) but got a bov welding in by MrC
I have to agree with blow thru FTW, the last time i had my kit on i had just got the kit back on running 14 psi, got on it and blew the pipe all the way off! sounded like a compressed air tank blew up, saw some guy walking half a mile down the road and he flipped around like he got shot lol.
Anywho, i was able to drive the car back to the shop with no problems or bad idle.
