Default Any one else intrested?

Im thinking of going to the efi101 school! for the two classes they offer!

Just trying to see if anyone else on the forum would be intrested in attending! Always better to have someone ur cool with to go somewere new!

Im just so sick of seeing locals have the issues there having or for myself to pay someone hundreds of dollars to tune my car to only be left with a tune thats basic!

There always more in a tune, and i feel sometimes no one cares after the car makes a good hp number!

Anyone else down?

That's pretty sweet they teach interesting courses I'd go for the diesel and efi. When do plan on going and I guess georgia is the best location cause it's close.
I'll sign up but not till october and I might also move to texas so not really sure you know. But if I don't move put me down for sure.

The closest one for me would be IL. I would be down, but I dont know if I will have the funds in time. I really want to go though, as well as go to AEM classes and become certified.

right....i was thinking the same thing...but it covers everything and then some....idk though its a five day course so thats 1k per day...is it really worth that much? can you really cram 1000 bux worth of knowledge in one day?

I have taken the 101 class about 2 years ago. I would suggest this to anyone who wants to get the basic working knowledge of tuning. The main things that I took away from that class was that as long as you take it slow and keep an eye on your indicator gauges its pretty hard to "blow" a motor.

During my class we had a bone stock e36 bmw with 150k+ miles. We tortured that car and it still ran like a champ. They bought it used, but just think about the strain of 80k dyno miles with 8 hours per day of redlining Strong power plant BMW

I bet they would cut you a deal if you get a few guys to go.

Always good to gain some knowledge on tuning, but for those of us who don't own / work at a shop with a dyno it would be kind of hard to apply that knowledge. Has anyone tuned on the drag stip during practice / test & tune days? Can you get close to a dyno tune that way? My local track is only 30 minutes away and open runs on Friday are only $20.

honestly i think tuning that way is way more accurate than on a dyno (imo), your putting your car in a more real world situation instead of using correction factors, big **** fan, ect. All you need is to be able to datalog your runs and save them before each run. then take em home and review them.

Ideally a mix of both would be the best. If you only street tuned the car it would take forever and you would need 2 people one to drive and another to man the laptop. On a dyno you can efficiently tune the car in a few hours and with one person. Its a challenge to tune for changes in road conditions.

best way imo to tune is.. Completly dyno tune the car to best of your abilitys. Using load bearing dyno. Once this is complete take the car out to the street and now do some street tuning.

This way you are getting accuarate timing adjustments but offering the ability to perfect the car in real world conditions!
