Default Att. If you installed a NST overdrive pully yourself.

Maybe you guys can help. I know it's as easy as a belt change, but i can't gut my tension pully to budge. I tried prying against the water pump pully. The tension pully has a special nut. Maybe i'm weak today but i did'nt want to force it to hard, Am i going about this all wrong?

tension pulley??? Its a tensioner bolt and its just a regular bolt that is spring loaded. I forgot the actual size but I believe its located near the water pump pulley.

You just pull on the bolt with a breaker bar and it relieves the tension of the serpentine belt.

You may want to get a friend though so one can pull on the tensioner and the ther can pull the belt off.

But be carefult not to break the tensioner bolt..remember its spring loaded so its not meant to come off..only relieve tension.

This thread is a DIY for the nst pulleys...has some good pics and info.

Its also a 3/4" hehe - be sure to turn it clockwise - towards you - like youre trying to tighten it - this will force the tensioner pulley downward and remove tension from the belt.

um use a 19 iirc 3/4 is slightly bigger then 19mm and may strip it, the tensioner is very easy to strip

mine was stuck, i had to take it off completely and soak it in wd40 for a few days. Worst case scenario, maybe you need to use a breaker bar if your feeling weak ;)

I don't know what happened to the pics. Probably aged. I'll see if I can find them.

x2

I put too much pressure on it trying to do the install myself and the bolt snapped. I can still remove tension, but it is much harder without the bolt there. Be sure to have two people.

It was 8 months ago...i made the post. I didn't know there was its own bolt to losen the tention on the belt. I did get a breaker bar for its length, not cause of my weakness....lol. It was no problem with 2 people to get the belt on.....I since went back to my stock pully cause someone convinced me that creating that much boost some how robs me of my original horse power, I want to consult a speed shop first.
