Default Bad turbo seal? Please help

i talked a bit about this in another post but i wanted to give it its own thread, i was just wondering what else besides a blown seal could cause oil to be in the hot side of the turbo housing? maybe this is normal idk?

my story...
i bought a used turbo kit that has about 5-6k on it and there is oil all inside the compressor housing. there is quite a bit of oil also lining the hot side pipping all the way into the intercooler, the cold side however is clean, so apparently its not getting threw the intercooler. the owner says the car didn't smoke or anything however i found out he blew the oil return line and im not sure if that has anything to do with the oil in there. is that a possibility? or could it have actually caused a bad seal?also there wasn't much oil coming from the crank vent inlet so i doubt the oil is coming from there.

im just trying to figure out what to do about it.

here is a video

thats after a little bit of cleaning in the inlet

outlet coming from the turbo to the intercooler

bottom of that pipe where oil has collected, you can also see the pipe lined in oil sut. its like that all the way into the intercooler

this is what it looks like when i wipe my finger in the turbo or top of the piping.. pretty thick

could deff be a blown seal, could have also been a drain problem which made the oil push passed the seal. Which a turbo is designed to do.

Id have it looked at, try to find some place local that you could just drop it off to save on shipping. They will be able to pull it apart and check all the seals/bushings

look online to see if you can find some that aren't too far away, call them and ask if they can rebuild and ITS turbo. Worth a shot. Or just time to upgrade to a Garrett!

only place i can suggest everyone will cry and whine.

but turbochargers.com has 30 years of rebuilding experience. They have done 2 of my buddies local, not a hitch with either of them.
