It's already been changed from internal to external wastegate. Pretty much a zpi setup. I have looked at other people's pics with the same setup and it looks like their hole here is open as well I just want to make sure. Thanks.

Mitsu's usually have oil and water cooled turbos so that could be what the other opening is for. Looks like they plugged the water drain opening.

So it's fine for that hole to be open then? It won't affect the turbo during use?

Well.....one of my best friends is a DSM guy and just told me a story of how his turbo blew because he didn't hook up the water line thinking it would be ok to just have the oil going through it only. When I saw your post I asked him about that and he advised have a connection for the water port also.

You also have to keep in mind that what we consider higher boost....16-20 psi is baby boost for a DSM. So if you're not running higher boost I think you'll be fine. To each is own....my outlook is that particular turbo is designed to use both oil/water cooling so why not use it and optimize cooling.
