i would think that the greatest risk of driving a car with a blown head gasket would be coolant leaking into a cylinder causing the engine to hydrolock. overheating would be a distant 2nd.

the greatest risk is coolant mixing with oil and breaking down the lubricating properties of the oil. coolant will destroy engine oil (even a little) and bye bye bearings. driving with a BHG will result in engine damage

true. the reason i say hydrolocking is because this guy with an old monte carlo blew his at the track, and the coolant locked it up so bad that it completely snaped his rods in half. he left it on the counter at my local performance shop as a paperweight. only time i've seen half of an egale h-beam rod.

Yeah, could be. If that's the case, it will just have to be replaced with something a little better. It's been running this way for over half a year. Perhaps it's time. Going to be checking in with the mad scientist this week and get things squared away.

Yeah, but I just replaced the big hole with a Carbon Fiber overlay, so I don't reduce my drag Coefficient...

The Z sabatoged the tC because she is feeling neglected.
She figured now would be the best time since you have started talking about her again lately!

I believe that you have hit the nail on the head sorta speak. Z's rolling first. Then built bottom end in the tC next.
