Default CA people.. only legal option is Supercharger?

no one makes a turbo that's CARB legal yet right? What are you CA people doing if you get pulled over with a ticket and you have turbo?

There will never be a carb-legal turbo kit for the tC. Go for the SC if you want carb legality and warranty.

I'm curuious about all this crap. I'm moving to cali in the summer and I'm not looking forward to:

1) car laws w/ turbo
2) gas prices
3) housing prices
4) prices and fees of everything else
5) the possiblity my new state becoming an island or sinking

Its true you don't know laws until you have been to CA. We have got a ton of them and most aimed at keeping your car as dead stock as possible. The cops are ****** (yes I know their doing their job, but still!) and heaven forbid they pull you over and pop the hood to find an illegal turbo set up. They will impound it, yank it, anything else that isn't code and tell you to come pick it up before they hit you with storage fees. People from out of state wonder why we CA people are so crazy about CARB legal parts, this is why

1. Don't do anything to get pulled over. I've a friend on the 4th year and running on illegal parts and still no hassles. I don't know for sure how he gets pass SMOG.
2. In the upper average of the spectrum. If the average price is 50%, expect around 75% of total
3. Disgusting. At least in my area. I live in the heart of the OC though. In the hills and isolated from other cities the prices are nice and low. In the good suburbs though.. basically my house is a 2 bedroom 3bathroom 1 living room 1 family room 2 story house and it's over half a million. A comfortable size but not very very big.
4. California is running up budgets, expect to pay a lot of random fees that come out of nowhere
5. Very good! It's inevitable actually, just wait a few tens of thousands of years. In the mean time, sunny skies and endless summers should keep you busy. If you don't like the beach, you can ski or snowboard within an hour or two of almost anywhere. If you like both, wake up early to surf and then head to the mountains!

they are Pirellis very low profile 215/35/zr19 the border is only an inch, and 3 weeks after they went on, one tire blew up on me right before winter formal. Those tires arent suited for LA, so im gonna sell the rims and buy 18's with a bigger side wall. The pirellis are th only tire that fits the rim and each tire is 190

the way i see it, if you drive like a maniac you will get the attention from the cops.

no other force induction kit is carb legal, so yes its the only option.

In my area we have what is called "Drag Net" Wich is pretty much a program just for Street racing etc. If you have anything illegal in your car They will fine you and Tow/impound your vehicle.

Besides. anyone can make a car go fast if they don't obey the law. If you can have a 12 second tC California Street legal You are one good tuner.

I just find it funny almost any performance shop or parts always come from out west - this was more true for the Hondas, etc of the world. You'd figure you could use them in the state.

I'm gonna have to sell my car probably. That sucks

If you tune your car the Supercharger is fast enough @ the factory psi.

P&P your head. do the valve train work, get the LSD, get a fly wheel. Get your exhaust done. Better tires. And you'll hit low 14s no problem once you learn to drive the car to utilize the power.

and If they ever develop a carb legal header + CAI. Even more butter.

carb legal header wont be possible unless they find a really good hi flowing cat that is on the header itself. and even that will rob some HP.

a header wont ever be legal for the tc. cali people either got to move or just be very nonchalant about it. face the facts.

its kinda funny actually. the more laws that cali puts out to stop tuners, the more people that are attracted to tuners because its illegal. its like forbbidden fruit.

Quaife will be releasing there LSD soon. and an exhaust will not get you pulled over. a HUGE riced out fart can will get you pulled over. You don't need a loud annoying exhaust for performance gains.

So long as the car isn't obnoxiously screaming out at people, "ARREST ME."

I was at a friends house whose neighbor a few houses down had an early 90's Prelude and the LOUDEST exhaust drone ever. He made the mistake of revving his engine. A few minutes later a cop pulls into the neighborhood and (I think) hands the guy a ticket.

And that's in direct contrast to a few of us hanging out in a parking lot. This guy's somewhat sleeper Integra which had no working cats and couldn't pass a SMOG test for its life was sitting there with the hood up and surrounded by a few guys. A cop drives by, pauses for a second and keeps going. I don't know how true the next thing said was but the owner said "Thank GOD I didn't have a 3" spoiler."
