Dude as i'm getting out I lock the door from inside once the turbo timer takes over. If you have the key in the ignition (key words there, key in ignition not engine running)and try this your right it won't work. i've been doing it this way for over 6 months, i've tried it it works.
Is it that had to understand?

i learned while leaving my gf in the car with the key in the ignition and engine running one cold night in the winter, that even if i open the door, hit the lock, or power lock, and then close the door behind me, the car will unlock the door automatically.
now , i don't know if this is because the key is in the ignition, or because the engine is running or both, because i don't have a turbo timer on my car, i can't test this out first hand, but i can make my best guesses how it works to help the guy out.

I'm not the OCD type or anything, but feel as if I have to check multiple times to make sure it's locked. I guess I was spoiled with the Viper 791X on my auto.
Remember, it is a matter of life or death we're talking about here.
Drax, that is when the key is in the ignition. There is a chip in there that has to be in close proximity to the ignition. Same thing that makes engine imobilizer turn off.
I read another post just like this, but the issue was that once the timer counted down and shut off the engine, it would unlock the doors. So is your not locking at all, or is it unlocking after it counts down?
And is this only with the scion alarm system?
I'm thinking about getting a turbo timer, and I dont' have the factory alarm, so I'm wondering if I'll have this issue.

NO NO NO. It only was not lock when I tried to use the remote control. It locked every other time and would stay locked. I just wanted to know if it could be locked VIA the wireless remote on teh key.
3yrs later, like lazarus, Im bringing this from the dead!!! Again... Can anyone, better yet has anyone achieved locking the alarm via the remote? With the TT on?! I have a Buddy Club Secu-Timer and the ptuning pnp harness but still no locking function while its on...
It's not a problem. It's how the locks are designed to work while the engine is running. You can lock it from the inside as you're getting out, or you can stick your key in the door, after it's shut, and lock it that way. I got real used to it after a few days.
If you feel better using the remote lock, wait until the TT shuts off by itself or override the TT if you weren't boosting or anything.

Mine never locked with the oem keyless or with the aftermarket alarm, the only way was to walk real slow or take my time taking my daughter out of the car and hope it would shut off by then, than i could lock it, also if ur lights are in auto they will stay on cause the door is closed when the tt times up so it never sees the door open after the ignition is killed.. U got me on this one.
