car tuned with FIC have some issues
Hi there
I have an 06 tc that is currently tunned at a low psi. I had it tuned just to get me by untill now. I am going to get it retuned and turn up the boost on the kit.
I have an 06 auto with a zpi kit. It was all tuned with the AEM fic.
I am planning to take the car down to ptuning to get it retuned. But there are some issues that needed to be fixed to insure it takes as less time as possible in ptunning shop and on the dyno.
I am have an idle issure with the car. When the car idels its always jumping around 500 to about 1500 rpm's. Its never stays at a certain rpm when its ideling. Only a couple times it has ideled normaly.
Also a couple times I have had the car stall out on me at some stop sighs and red lights.
Are these issues just tuning problems?? Or is it something more than that??
Any help would be very apprecated!!
Thanks,
Chris

i'm having the same problem and i'm not even boosted. Took it to the dealer and they said there's nothing wrong with my car.
I was suggested to clean the maf sensor but i haven't had a chance to do that yet.

check you maf sensor, and the o-ring around it. also check to make sure all your couplers are secure with no tears or leaks. And check to make sure the vacume hoses are not leaking. The unstead idle points to a vacume leak.
Yes I know that is points to a vacume leak but like I said it doesent do it all the time. Sometimes its not that bad only jumps between 200-400 rpms and others it so bad that I have to really put my foot on the brake because the car jerks so bad.
I will go ahead anyways and check all the hoses and clamps for leaks and ill also go ahead and check the maf o-ring.

update I just took the car out a really watched the RPM's I was a little over in the first post. The RPM's were jumping around from about 700-1100 RPM's. The vac gauge was jumping from 20-15.
So all I need is a better tune too fix this?

my car had the same problem but i never had a chance to get it retune but there is the resistor mod that might do the trick

i think a better tune might do the trick for the idle issue ... i still havent had my problems fixed yet i got so fustrated with it running like that so i just pulled everything off and went back to stock
Vac pressure WILL change when idle changes, the electronic throttle body is opening to kee the car from stalling. I had this problem and i had to tune it out, My guess is that your maf / o2 / fuel maps on the FIC are not smooth near idle.
Ptuning will definatly fix this issue with their tune. Dont pull everything off, you will be happy once its tuned good!
