Default CEL CODE 0172

so for some reason my car keeps throwing that code...which means running rich in bank 1

and my tuner said there isnt really anything he can do except for me to drive it and drive it until the fuel trims level themselves out?

what do u guys think?

what else could be causing this problem>

and if anyone else has gotten this code, wat did u do to fix it?

what engine management are you using? running too rich means that the primary o2 is seeing too rich of a mixture coming out of the engine...

it could be a tune issue or a sensor issue... more information is needed

if you can, give UMS Tuning a call. Tony knows how to tune an F/IC to spoof the primary o2 on the tCs...

recirc your bov because sometime too much air is vented to atmosphere cause a rich condition Tc have very sensitive sensors. I had same problem and my tuner said the same thing like u, so I recirc it., and it fix the problem. ( IF u have BOV)

the primary reason you are having this cell pop up is cause the fuel map is not in line with your 02 map...what i mean is the fuel map is adding more fuel than what the 02 map is trying to cover up in a sense...i would start with your fuel map and in the cells under 14.7-15 psia try leaning it out...start small...it will help if you have a scangauge2 and view your long term and short term fuel trims...the closer to 0 you get on the scangauge the better off you are.
