Default CEL P0505

ok so for a about a couple of days now i have been getting the CEL p0505. i checked the shop manual and and it says it could either be pcv valve which i checked and its good and clean, the tps and crank sensor which i checked and all plugged in, a vacuum leak which i checked and its good or the ECU or the throttle body. a friend of mines that works at toyota asked one of the mechanics and they said most of the times they came across that CEL its the throttle body. my question is what does everyone think it is or any suggestions. i just dont want to spend money on that throttle body and not have to. is there any way i can check the throttle body or whatever?

Few other questions.. Are you messing with the idle on the ultimate? maybe this is causing the oem comp to see something wierd.. Also check the TB for oil build up or carbon build up!

remove the ic piping and check.. Also i would try some carb choke cleaner in there clean it out.. let it sit for 20 min and start it..

yeah mike i am going to clean it now with some TB cleaner and then try it out. and idle wasnt messed with. just fuel a lil for my idle but this just started to happen like 2 days ago. the idle has been tuned since my car started. when i clear it comes back as soon as i accelerate then let off and the idle trys to set and comes up. it bounces like 4 or 5 times then stays at 120 rpms then slows drops to 1000 and stays there andthats when it comes on.

all4dagame i'll let you know. thanks for free?

hey mike i started it and now CEL i drove it and still no CEL hopefully i fixed it. but it started to stall again lol. i think my theory was it was to dirty and the TB butterfly didn't close enough thats why it kept idling so high. now it idles good except after accelerating it bounces still and sometimes stalls now like it used to. i just gotta tighten up the BOV more. plus i think i should richen up my idle its at mid to low 15's! i wanna try it at mid to high 14's.

just thought i would put my two cents in...i am a technician for toyota and just wanted to inform you...not saying this is the problem but it is something to watch out for....the 2AZ-FE throttle bodies are notorious for going bad... some sooner than others, some never go bad at all but....moisture gets into the sensor on the throttle body and ruins them. rust builds up and siezes the gears in them causing the throttle plate to get stuck. some of them i've seen stay stuck in WOT! already replaced about 4 of them not including how many other techs at our shop have replaced them already.
again, just thought i would point that out, something to watch out for

yea thats why i said 2AZ-FE instead of just tC cause if you know someone that has a camry, rav4, highlander, basically anyone with a 2AZ, they could be affected too
