Default Cost of going FI-- Bottom Line

I want to know how much you guys spent on basic turbo//supercharger setups. Im not looking for heavy custom setups I mean an average Joe wanting the TRD supercharger or maybe a GReddy or ZPI stage 0

1. Parts (if bought from dealership or distrib)

2. Labor (if you had a shop do the labor)

3. Tuning (if done by a shop)

Im basically trying to layout exactly the cost of supercharging my tC, first of all which is the best price and of course is it worth the money. 4200$ to have my tC supercharged from Toyota vs. 2400+890 from a private shop. Is the full warranty worth that price gap etc. is what im looking into. Also whats the cheapest price youve seen on the TRD supercharger kit alone I believe ive seen a 2300ish someone linked on SL forums earlier but most were 2800ish?Thanks in advance.

$3430 installed for the TRD supercharger.
Bought parts from McGeorge and having it installed next Wednesday at the Toyota dealership.

perfect response jake thanks the toyota guys didnt have someone bring in there own supercharger yet so they had to "call me back later" on it. and that means your keeping your full powertrain warranty for the next 4-5 years *whatevers remaining* on both the supercharger and the car? also which dealership is doing this for you ill have the local one price match and call them maybe.

http://www.mcgeorgeparts.com/Default...&PartID=272898

so im looking at mcgeorges pricing and it looks like

Online Price: $2,950.00

+35$ shipped to me.

so Toyota told you only 430$ for the install of it? seems a little cheap unless im calculating this wrong.

Well, I ordered the SC with about another 2 grand worth of parts from McGeorge, so they cut me a deal on shipping. I save money long term by saving for everything at once and doing it all at once. That way I have leverage on negotiation and save a few bucks for gas

The dealer is charging me $480 to install.

To do a custom setup, with the right components, I believe that the price ranges from $3,500 to $4,200.

Yes sir. Plus, think about resale value. With a turbo kit, your resale value plummets. If you ever plan on selling your tC, go with a supercharger.

What about going back to stock? If you want to sell you'r car, then maybe you ought to think about spending time trying to put it in it's stock form, or at least as much as possible.

Sounds like a sales pitch to TRD.

Resale value might be more than it's worth turbo'd depends on who you are selling it to. Some people love turn key done up cars.

When in doubt. Return to stock and part out.
