Any ideas??

My coupler and piping right off of my turbo keeps blowing off. I've been boosted for 3 months now with no problems until yesterday and this past weekend. So i changed the boot and put a brand new tbolt-clamp and soon as it hit 5 psi in 2nd, it blew off again. All my piping is cherry, its just the coupler off the turbo, never had this reoccuring problem.

 

replace coupler, the treading is stripped probably

 

Make sure the tbolt is tight as possible and get a coupler that will fit snuggly on the compressor outlet. Tighten it as much as you can.

 

tighten more than you can use a cheater and make sure its flush...^ what he said

 

My turbo had the same problem. The clamps it came with were inferior "worm gear" clamps that stripped themselves into uselessness.

I replaced them with strong, sturdy T-Bolt clamps. My T-Bolt clamps are thicker and sturdier. The T-bolt clamp does not cause wear and tear on itself.

Clean dry surface, snug fit, plus torqued T Bolts = win.

 

a couple dabs of super glue will keep it on but won't be too much to where you won't be able to get it off

 

Ghhheeetttooo!! Get it bead rolled or some beads on it. And it will never come off.

 

I had a big lip welded on my compressor outlet, that thing is never coming off lol

 

i think i'll take thoriums advice and weld a lip on the outlet, that sounds like a win

 

haha i never did that. my friend did though. his car is pretty ghetto for the most part. his coupler never fell off after that though!

Wow, I figured the turbo had a bead or lip on it already. Nevermind about my previous post then. Get a bead on that thing!

 

I also reject my first statement lol - Right off the turbo hairspray will not work

 

x2 on better tbolt clamps.. and also the beaded end/ aka anti blowoff pipes as mentioned

 

T-bolts clamps and some elbow grease work!
