Default CXRacing

LKHASOIHNEofnipcnweifbnIOUNAWPCnecwecj382yhr9f8nc*)&^45yh

I just got a new turbo from them and it was blown the f up right out of the box. I dumped like a quart of oil out the hot side (yes I have a restrictor) the first time I started the car. I should have just rebuilt my damn turbonetics.

Moral of the story... CXRacing sucks, don't cheap out on the boost.

I was broke and my turbo was busted. I figured it would last long enough for me to get my turbonetics repaired... WRONG

Did you prime the turbo before you tried to start it up?

CX racing is actually one of the better Ebay vendors. Many of their parts are very good quality. All chinese turbos are hit or miss regardless of who you buy them from. My CXR turbo worked fine and I know several others running them without any problems. It's just a case of getting what you pay for. You might have to go through a few $200 Chinese turbos to get the same miles you could get from a single $800 Garrett turbo. The choice is yours.

FWIW, I'm presently running a Precision turbo I bought from Ebay, from one of the USA's biggest distributors of Chinese knock-off parts. Does that make it any worse than the same Precision turbo bought from Dezod or P-Tuning for an extra $300?

Well if I would have got 1000 miles out of it I would be alot less upset than just turning the key and it dumping a quart of oil down my exhaust.

I'd be upset too, that really sucks. What did CXR have to say about it? IIRC someone at SL mentioned getting a poorly balanced turbo from CXR and they exchanged it.

since Kyle isnt here ill answer it for him (hope you dont mind bro), even though it says on their site that there is no warranty of anykind on turbo chargers or turbo kits they offered to replace or send a rebuild kit. I told kyle to go ahead with the rebuild kit, the reason for that is cause i just rebuilt his turbonetics turbo with cxracings rebuild kit and it seems to be doing ok. So if anything everhappens to this turbo we always have two options, rebuild the turbonetics or rebuild the cxracing turbo. I have to say i didnt think they would go the distance and offer kyle this deal but they did and iv got some respect for em. Even though it was a failed turbo they are willing to make it right. I might buy some stuff from em here and there.

again he did it cause the seal on the turbin of his turbonetics was on its way out, he got a rebuild kit and a turbo from cxracing. this way i could rebuild the turbonetics turbo and he could go ahead and install the cxracing turbo as a bandaid till i had time to rebuild the turbonetics.

cx turbo failed on start up so i had to take time away from my little girl to rebuild his turbonetics turbo so he could get back on the road. so we installed his turbonetics freshly rebuilt turbo on his car last night (or should i say this morning since it was 2am when we finished i think, didnt have a choice since i didnt have a babysitter and had to wait to go over there). everything went pretty well with it so i just told him to accept the rebuild kit offer cxracing offered.

look guys i understand your contention for ebay parts as do I, but the fact of the matter is this was the best option for kyle at the moment. I dont beleave on boosting on a budget but keep in mind Kyle has already forked over the dough to get a good kit and was just trying to find a cheaper way to repair his kit and give me enough time to rebuild his turbo at the same time. If he would have sent his turbo to be rebuilt by turbonetics (btw no warranty since this is a used kit) it would have been expensive for build and shipping and only god knows when he would get it back. Second option was to go to Turbochargers.com for rebuild, I gotta be honest with ya i dont perticularly care to deal with them (just my two pennies), that would have cost kyle 200-300 bux almost the exact price for a turbo and rebuild kit from cx racing.

This whole thing was kinda up in the air about what may happen, but it was worth a shot and looks like it paid off. I dont suggest anyone els try this but no guts no glory i guess. This still has a chance of backfireing after all this is my first turbo rebuild and i did my best to balance it. time will tell.

Kevin btw is a really good guy. He was no nonsense just sent me an email saying he didn't need to know the specifics, do I want a rebuilt kit or a turbo exchange. They came through in the clutch when I needed it and the car is actually back on the road (with a few hickups from the exhaust). They are a really good company, I have heard alot of positives from their intercooler (not just on here) and their piping. I didn't expect them to come throught at all it was a refreshing surpirse that they did... I wish Ptuning was on par with CXRacing's customer service.

Thanks for clearing it up with everyone Chris, and thanks for the quick rebuild.
