dezod s1
Are the dezod s1 garretts shipped with a 5 bolt discharge or 4 bolt. I have a .50 ar compressor side and a .63 turbine side. From what I understand the first turbos they offered were .48 and were turbonetics turbos, then they started using precisions and now they have switched to garretts. Can anyone provide additional information on the turbos that were used in the past and present.
bk3p in a world of diversity in the turbo market especially you will find many options on many kits. t3/t4, GT28, GT30, or GT35 doesn't automatically mean you will get a Garrett. They just mean that they are spec'd like a Garrett. Many companies sprung off of Garrett or Garrett design.
What you order with a kit will determine what type of turbo you get. Dual Ball bearing usually means that you will get a higher end Garrett GT series, Precision, Comp or Turbonetics turbo. To be sure you get what you want ask for the turbo brand by name "Garrett." I have tried many different brands myself I have a couple different turbos sitting in my Garage as well. I prefer Garrett because I have yet the need to rebuild one.
As far as bolt patterns go you need to specify what you want because it usually follows a specific housing type. Not all 5 bolts are equal either. V-band has no bolts and makes for a gasket and leak free system.
The Dezod S-1 kit has been one of the most race proven and value available systems on the market for a good while now. They follow a 5 bolt down pipe pattern on their systems and their t3/t4 manifold design is extremely stout for the S-1. DG spec uses the S-1 manifold on their race vehicle and it has seen many hours of racing abuse.
If your worried about the quality of their system just see where it is right now. Everywhere! I'm a Dezod fanboy though and have gotten nothing but great service from Dezod and I live in a foreign country. I can't say anything about other companies out there. I haven't been able to try their products either because I couldn't get an order or get a strait answer. Dezod will always take time with you via email or the phone pick up the phone or email them.

You will not be disappointed with a Dezod S1 kit. I absolutely love mine

Dezod quality and customer service are second to none. Some people are turned off this kit because it has a log-style manifold rather than tubular, but its honestly great. It is super durable and it puts the turbo spool up exactly where it needs to be for a low to mid boost application. Getting into higher boost levels, your are going to want a tubular manifold, and thats where their Alpha kit comes into play.
I daily drive my tC on 8psi. It gets me to and from work no problem and pulls hard when I need it. The S1 is perfect for this.

I'm not interested in the kit. I am purchasing a turbo that came off the dezod kit (late 2009) I'm trying to figure out which one it is because I know they changed the turbo that they sold the kit with over the years. From what I have gathered the older model kits were sold with turbonetics turbos, I couldn't find much information on em. I know that they later switched to precision turbos where there were issues with seals, which caused them to switch to garrett's which is what they include in their kits today. I'm just trying to confirm that information.
seller doesn't know what it is. I talked to someone at dezod and based on the information I gave em and described the turbo, it is a Precision unit that had issues with bad seals. Anyone running that kit on the precision turbo?
The seller can't look at the turbo and tell if they count 4 or 5 bolts? Or they don't see the word precision or the "T" for turbonetics stamped on it?
I have a rebuilt precision and I would like a garrett. I don't want to brag on it. If it blows: I will rebuild it, sell it, and get a Garrett.
Not to OT but batman what size turbo is that GT30?
