next time prime your turbo if its a fresh install......its very important to get oil to it asap

Turbo should be primed even on oil changes. Otherwise oil could seep past the seals and into the piping, including exhaust. Which would also cause smoke out the tail pipe. If compression is good, rings should be good, so 98% sure your rings are fine. I vote oil in the piping from the turbo.

Um....NO. Leakdown uses a different guage set and compressed air.

okay so my car has been filthy the past week with all the rain we've had.so i washed the car yesterday evening. i did a pull today just to humor myself and see if i could get a clearer picture of what was going on. the smoke definatley has a blue tint to it. so i think it is my turbo or oil in the piping. the thing is tho its not constant. the only time smoke comes out of the exhaust is when i'm coming down from full boost. its not consistantly dumping smoke. But coming from say 6K rpm down some smoke comes out the back.

any more advice in this?

ORLY.......then maybe you should tell that to the people who wrote the directions on the back of my compression tester.

talks about the same thing on the back of my tester (and in the instructions) but it doesnt call it a "leak down test"

anyways syldrin you get anything worked on today?

That's what it's for. To test the rings. They could call it Kibbles and Bits for all I care. It's a test for the rings....not much needs to be said on that.
