Default DYNO DAY!

Today was Dyno day here in South Florida with a few tC's!

I just want to thank kenny again for coming down to tune our cars, he's been more than helpfull through everything. ZPI FTW!

ok, now for the results:

The Dyno pulls were done on a Dyno jet, and there was limitations when it came to having sufficient air in the shop, but overall it was pretty good, I will post up the dyno sheets as soon as i can.

On 7 PSI the car made 230 WHP, Not bad considering this is my daily driver, and this is the setting that i will be driving on all the time. Car pulls very nice, and is a straight 11.5 on the AFR.

Next, Kenny tuned it to 10.5 PSI were we made 295 WHP, and i believe 296 TQ. This was after ALOT of adjusting, and about 25 Dyno Pulls. The car originally made 244.9 WHP last week on 9.9 PSI. As you can see a HUGE improvement!

After we left the shop, Kenny wanted to make sure it was solid on the road as well, we road out to the highway, and he checked the tune on the street. Did a few adjustements, and changed the PSI to 13.5 @ 11.5 AFR. I didnt get a dyno on this setting, but we projected around 335-350 WHP on this PSI setting. This is now my RACE setting, or my " weekend warrior " lol.

Next was the stage 1 ZPI Auto tC, The car was leaned out to about 11.5 and i believe @ 8 PSI it Made around 230-235 WHP!

It pulled like a bandit though on the street, time for a ZPI valve body upgrade?

.....and lastly was the Greddy turboed tC. After about 10-15 pulls on the dyno, the car was able to make around 245 WHP. Continueing with "adjusting" TITAN MOTORSPORTS tune, Kenny was in the middle of a pull when the car lost ALL oil pressure, and kenny shut the car off IMMEDIATLY. He looked it over and decided it could very well be that the oil pump failed on the car. We pulled the dipstick and noticed a total of 5 1/2 to 6 total quart's of oil!

Unfortunatly, you really couldnt tell what the problem was, but in no way had anything to do with the tuning, it was a ticking timebomb to eventually happen.

There is good news out of all this though, this greddy tC will now be shipped to ZPI to have a stage 2 motor and some other goodies

STAY TUNED AS WE WILL BRING YOU VIDEO AND DYNO SHEETS!

Today was very exciting (my ears still hurt lol).
A REALLY BIG THANKS TO KENNY.
He's awesome and his customer service was over the top.

Yeah it was around 8-8.5 PSI.
Time for a tranny swap actually.
ANYONE want to trade their 5 speed tranny for my auto?

I'll probably be talking to Kenny about that valve body upgrade soon. (=
I'll see what we can work out; I want to get the Emanage Ultimate with it as well.

Poor Paul.
We'll have to start up a donation fund for him.

My videos are crap.
Hopefully Paul got some good footage. (=

Yes the greddy tC will now become a ZPI Frankenstein! This should be interesting so be sure to keep an eye out for this soon to be ZPI built setup.

It sucked what happened but believe it or not I'm not upset. The thing I'm a little upset about is missing two pretty big shows here this month. I was looking forward to them since the look of my car was starting to come around but no biggie. I'll be taking care of the place that over filled the oil or most likely didn't drain all of it and/or never replaced the oil filter. Kenny also said that the tune on the car wasn't the base greddy and pretty much was crap. So apparently titan did some kind of tune but it was really bad.

Meeting Kenny today was nice, super nice guy and will be helping me out A LOT. The customer service is like no other I've seen or heard of in the car business. I don't really know what to say to thank Kenny and ZPI. If anyone is confused on who to go with stop thinking and call ZPI.

Now hopefully my car can be done in two shakes of a lambs tail. That's right I said two shakes of a lambs tail.

ZPI FTW!

I'll be more than happy to take donations. On that note... if anyone wants stock parts I'm now selling the basic stuff that's taken off stock cars. I have no need for them since with a built motor there's no chance of me putting them back on. I'll also be selling my 440cc injectors and manual boost controller.

I'll try to get some of the videos up this week. There is a lot to go through to find the good one's.

My ears are gone so I'll be taking donations for hearing aids also.

We should know for sure once it gets to ZPI and they check it out. I'm sure one of the first things will be to drain the oil so we'll know how much was in there. The engine may not be bad but a good chance it is.

Wow. That's odd. I wonder what failed.

Was this the first time you were tuned or was it a retune?

Yeah the tc takes no more than 4 quarts of oil, but i think he said that the place that might of changed his oil either put way too much or didnt drain it all the way out. That sucks if that is the case. I have seen it before when i used to work at a lube shop a long time ago, the guy i worked with added too much oil in a mitsubishi mirage which holds like 4-4.25 quarts, the customer came back and we drained like a good 7 quarts out of the poor thing! YIKES! He was definitely fired and had to pay for a new motor! But yeah they definitely couldve done that, which really sucks. Sorry to hear about that. But ZPI will take care of you, and you have seen their customer service first hand, it is awesome!

Don't you need to add more oil when you add a turbo?

Well sometimes more oil is needed like say 4.5qts but the dip stick will read at a normal level. As long as it reads at a normal level it's fine to have more in it. I really don't think the guy put too much in. I think the filter wasn't changed and or it wasn't emptied all the way. I stood two feet from the guy pouring it in and told him four qts and watched him put the fifth off to the side. I however couldn't see the guy under the car cuz he was like underground.

As for the tune, titan told me it wasn't tuned cuz they ran on the dyno and the base map was fine. I got my money back form them for not tuning it. The car ran off the charts rich at WOT. As soon as Kenny saw the map he said it wasn't the base map and looked like someone messed with it and badly. When Kenny tuned it yesterday he had the AFR at like 11.2-11.5 and was perfect. That's when the car lost all oil pressure and he turned it off. He checked the dip stick and it was over filled by what he guested about 6qrts.

After it all happened I talked to him about shipping it up there and having them look at it. It really came down to me not wanting anybody but them to touch it. ZPI works on these cars all day everyday and not just selling parts like other companies. You have the dealerships that suck and we've all read the nightmare stories and they no nothing about turbos and than you have a place like titan that you would think knew what they were doing but can't even tune a car (maybe if it was a supra it'd be different). I didn't and don't really trust anyone else. So I figured since I was thinking about having the motor built in the summer I might as well get it down now. I'll use it as my daily driver until I can afford to pick up a good suv or truck and have the tC put to the side as a toy. That'll be a while but will happen.

Ok so basically a first tune. Hmm.. I might blame it on a really crappy oil change... I do my own now...

if anyone is gonna take care of you its kenny. they really took care of my tc for me and at a unbeatable price. was a long drive, but well worth it.

man im hoping to hit that 10.5 psi mark. do you have the normal stage 1 spring in there? im only hitting 9.2 currently but all of my boost leaks have been fixed so im lookin forward to seeing in the 10's. will be kinda upset if i dont.

I don't and it was the first time with this car and last. I was really busy with work and had a lot to get done with my car before today's car show. It was thursday after work and I went to pick up my oil and pulled in by the oil place and they asked if I wanted one. I was like hmmm, this will save me time cuz I have so much to do and need it in before that saturday morning and friday was no way I'd be able to do it. I told them I had to stand there when they did it. I watched the guy grab 5qrts and started to pour in and I told him only four and he said "ok, I thought so". He put the other qrt off to the side and told me it was ready and to pay inside. I didn't see the guy take the oil out or change the filter (that I supplied) cuz he was in the floor under the car and never came out.
