Can't compare a Racing SIM to a Racing Arcade game. Totally Different type of needs are being met with both.

Coolest part of the game is how realistic the cars are but I agree...NFS games usually are more arcade, can't wait to see how the community takes it.

I'm a HUGE GT fan but Gran Turismo claims to be a driving simulator where as the NFS Shift 2 is being launched as the 1st Racing simulator.

GT is a SIM in my opinion. I'm going to buy Shift 2 as I did 1 but I am not looking to get out of it what I get out of GT5.

Honestly...thats good, because that means you'll defiantly be surprised when you start driving the cars in NFS Shift 2 because IMO, this is the first game to actually give GT franchise a run for their money (which I never that was possible...been a playing GT since mid-90's)
The cars drive EXTREMELY realistic...unlike ANY previous NFS game.

With that said, I hope then they gave the game some "road/surface feel", cause NFS Shift 1 had none. Cars slid and that was about all you got. I need to feel grip. There is nothing that rivals GT5's road/surface feel (on a console that is). If there isn't, I won't hold it against them to much, but to step up to GT5 that is a critical element that needs to be in the game.

Tru Tru smoke I was a fan of GT until it just felt mundain and old. Still GT is an awesome game but for me NFS has more replay value. The only thing NFS needs is rally mode or some sort of off-road race.

Everyone has their pref's I reckon. For me, I haven't been able to put GT5 down since I got it. NFS Shift 2's release made me realize though that I haven't finished NFS Shift 1 fully yet (bought GT5 and haven't touched NFS Shift 1 since).
I picked it up again today and popped it in, and then my 3yr old proceeded to take over the PS3...lol. So, I let him play and I started him all over on another profile and he got the tC to play with. But something I realized, unlike GT5 where I can buy any car at any point in the game, just need the funds......NFS Shift you can't buy any car at any time cause they are in Tier Levels. No matter how many funds you build, you won't be able to buy that GTR until you reached that level for that Tier. My son was a bit upset because the tC was the only car he could drive. Didn't dawn on me that it was setup this way until his short attention span pointed it out that after buying the tC, that was it, can't play any other cars....not even in Arcade mode.
That sucks.....in short.
Sorry for the off topic...sorta.

So, in the spirit of NFS Shift 2 coming out, I whipped out NFS Shift 1 and made this video:

Father and Son team is inevitable.

He was attacking those clipping points well. After seeing this I'm just going to get credit for the game at the nearest game store lol. Have any plans to get him into drifting or racing like what was done with Ken Gushi?

He has been with me in the Auto scene since before he could talk, so he has full support which ever path he decides to take. Between myself and his uncle (brother-in-law), he has a lot of motorsports influence.
