Default Engine Build - Then Selling the tC

Well. I've found a machine shop to rehone my block.

I have pistons on hold and still waitin on word about rods.

But sadly, I think my motivation to build my tC is coming to an end.

It's been fun but I want a new car to work on and make it go fast. After the build, I will clean up the engine bay, fix any minor problems I may have, get the car fully dialed in and sell it privately.

I'm looking to sell my car in Spring 2007 (march/april). It's just time to move on, I've had enough fun, heartaches, blood, sweat and tears with this car. I think it would be nice for someone else to enjoy a really fast tC everyday. I love building cars and making them go fast. I thrive off speed.

All good things must come to an end.

I think its time I get a new project car

Unfortunately I think I am finished in the Scion Community after my engine build. My g/f wants me to keep my car so she has it to drive daily, but I want to get a luxury sports car (IS 250 6 spd RWD) so we have a reliable d.d car. I dont think I could afford both cars to be honest.

I'm planning ahead for my future with my g/f. So we'll see.

As of now the tC IS going up for sale in March/April of 2007. I've already had a offer of $15,500 for it by a local kid (after I do my engine work) I think the base asking price I'll ask is $17,000 firm

Luther - I see you are in Surprise, I am located in Glendale/Peoria. 83rd Ave and Beardsley. I am holding a BBQ for Scikotics at my apartment this Saturday Night at 7-730 till whenever. You are more than welcomed to come join me and my club at my place for a cookout if you are not busy. The tC will be there

I'm going to go ahead and go through with my engine build, and fix up in getting a new front/rear bumper and getting some scratches here and there fixed up.

As it looks now I might end up selling it =(

The Top Cars that I've looked at:

1. Lexus IS 250 RWD MT (test drove)
2. EVO MR
3. Lexus IS 350 RWD (test drove)
4. BMW 328xi
5. Acura TL
6. Acura TSX

So far the IS 250 RWD MT is in the lead right now.

As for my car. The start asking price will be $16,000 firm

I DO have a potential canidate for my car here in AZ. So we'll see what I decide after my engine build =)

Sell the tC, buy an xA for a reliable DD?

IS250 is mushy... i'd stay away.

TSX is nice - my co-worker just bought one.

2 people who know how to drive (EddNog and Ericsscion) drove the AWD IS250 - it's mushy and the suspension is worse than a stock tC.

i looked at a few of the cars that you did as well...bimmer, C class, IS 250, G 35 sedan, CTS but the TSX was the only front wheel drive that I could get in that class...the winter gets real rough here and the last thing I need is for my daily driver to be stuck in the snow. I love the TSX, the comfort is unsurpassed. Its an all around solid car...its got my reccomendation

Judging by this:

2. EVO MR
and this:

It's been fun but I want a new car to work on and make it go fast
and this:

I love building cars and making them go fast. I thrive off speed.

You will be buying the Evo.

If you have any respect for the other cars on that list, test drive them first before driving the Evo. Otherwise you won't even bother. The highest rated horsepower car on your list (IS350) has an off-the-lot 0-60 of 5.5 to 6 seconds. The Evo will get you there in a little over 4.

http://www.evolutionm.net

Read around and look at the posted track times and dyno sheets for the IX's. Basic bolt-ons and a flash will have you around 330awhp and running mid-low 12s. It's absolutely absurd how mod-friendly these cars are.
