Default Is everyone else having these stupid problems???

I am really losing motivation to keep my tc boosted.

I have fought with my car since day one that it was turbo'd.

-destroyed the entire differential and ring gear of first tranny

-Dezod log Mani has cracked twice and I had to take the whole thing off to fix it. And as of right now it's cracked again

-had a misfire forever only to find it was a wire that had no soldier on the terminal of my boomslang harness

-and the tune! I have payed 2 seperate professionals to dyno and street tune the car and I am still fighting it! It studders everytine I shift, and it still runs rich at wot, around 11.0

- oh and I get about 15 mpg on the highway going 70

Am I the only one who has been battling thier turbo tc?

I have a dezod s1 kit with an fic, so it seems like it would be easy to get the tune right, but no one in the widwest seems to have any experience with making a turbo tc run right.

How is your guys drivability?

Have you had a lot of parts breaking or malfunctioning?

And how about some suggestions

I am wondering if I should just sell it or if I should stay with it, it's so hard to stay motivated

It's hard to stay motivated, i understand. At least you have some professionals at all! no one in my area can tune anything!, so I'm on my own.:/

Here's my advice:
Watch your shifts, since you've damaged one tranny. not always the car, sometimes the driver(no offense intended).

I have tracked my fuel mileage here lately with my Scangauge. The difference between 60 and 70, with slightly above normal tire pressure, is about 5 mpg. I only get 27 around 70, thats on a good day, but at 60 i can get 30+.

Call dezod about the Manfiold. They are pretty good guys, may be able to offer advice, and hopefully help you out.

What happens when you shift to stutter? Is it an open air BOV? have you thought about recirculating it? If it is recirc, is it set at right pressure/installed correctly?

Just some things to think about.

For the most part I would say most everyone has had or have issues like you.

For me, I kept fouling out spark plugs, for my friend his 02 sensors kept breaking, for my other friend he kept having issues with couplers popping off no matter what

11 A/F at WOT isnt bad at all

I sold my turbo kit and bought a motorcycle, it was a good decision but im in the process of building another kit for my TC, but only because I bought a 93' honda hatch as my DD.

Most of your issues would be fixed by finding a good tuner

Driver error. 250whp doesn't break 5-speeds.

-Dezod log Mani has cracked twice and I had to take the whole thing off to fix it. And as of right now it's cracked again

Common problem with the Dezod manifold

-had a misfire forever only to find it was a wire that had no soldier on the terminal of my boomslang harness

Mishap.

-and the tune! I have payed 2 seperate professionals to dyno and street tune the car and I am still fighting it! It studders everytine I shift, and it still runs rich at wot, around 11.0

Your tune sucks.

- oh and I get about 15 mpg on the highway going 70

Your tune sucks, I used to get ~36mpg on the highway.

Am I the only one who has been battling thier turbo tc?

I have a dezod s1 kit with an fic, so it seems like it would be easy to get the tune right, but no one in the widwest seems to have any experience with making a turbo tc run right.

For what it was, great. Compared to an OEM turbo'd car, crap.

Have you had a lot of parts breaking or malfunctioning?

0 parts broke on mine, stock or aftermarket.

And how about some suggestions

I am wondering if I should just sell it or if I should stay with it, it's so hard to stay motivated

Ive been boosted for alittle over a year now and i get some minor problems from time to time. I know that when I boosted the car problems will eventually rise, you just have to stick with it. Sounds like if you could find a better tuner alot of your problems would go away. I get 34 mpg on highway.

Built motor, Huge turbo, 1000cc injectors and i still get WAYYYY better mpg then you.

Stock motor 11.4-11.7 12 max afr is what id consider good. Your afr's should be stock on the highway though if your running a piggy back so sounds like you have other issues cause your mpg and drivability.

Yo man! My guess on the ring and pinion is that you were wheel hopping real bad and that's what caused it. I have personally witnessed wheel hop destroy other transmissions, so that is very possible.

What is your afr cruising and your afr part-throttle? Definitely sounds like a tune issue.

What PSI are you running?

On the dezod manifold, you need a flex section in your downpipe, that will help the manifold from cracking, that or fork over some money and get a cast iron manifold. Depending on if the manifold is an old design or new design, it could be one of the weaker versions as well.

Have you done any boost leak tests? Doing this and fixing any/all leaks can help a lot. I know you stated your afr is good but there still could be an issue somewhere.

Have you considered doing a blow-thru setup?

As far as tuning goes, there is a decent company near me that has done 3+ turbo tC's the last time I talked to them. they are called ModifiedbyKC. Website is mkcperformance.com I believe. I would say hey let me tune your tC, but I haven't tuned a tC yet and wouldn't want to be the cause of anything happening, although I have read up on it extensively and it doesn't seem that hard to do lol. Hit me up man and I would be willing to come out and help you check for any boost leaks and if you want I could take a peak at the tune. Do you have a CEL?

One last thing, are you on factory plugs? 1 step colder? lol sorry for the questions haha

Bro once you modify anything in the engine expect problems. Especially force induction.

34mpg is more than realistic. I managed to get 492 on a single tank when I was boosted.

tc 5th gear suck but yeah i cruise 65-70mph for best mpg.. my afrs are gradually going rich though as it approach to 0 to 1psi is already on 13.0.. the best i had was 18mpg, not complaining on that just the small tc gas tank sucks, I have to bring two 5 gallon gas container to safely cruise a 4 hr road trip lol
