Default Exhaust Help...

Hello all,
I am a noob to the Scion world but I just bought a custom turbo kit that comes with the Dezod 2.5" S pipe and I was wondering what type of exhaust do you guys use from the S pipe back.
I did my research and have narrowed down to the P-tunning and Descendant kit but does any one know if their 3" S back will fit to my 2.5" S pipe. Intuition tell me no but open to suggestion.
Thank you in advance.

You dont really want a 3" exhaust for the TC. When Dezod first developed exhaust systems, they made a 3" but realized that they werent getting any more power than with a 2.5" set-up, and in fact got more power with the 2.5", so they went back to that in their current systems.

the statment "you don't really want a 3 exhaust on a tc" is ____ing rediculous. the reason dezod did that is not because they weren't making any power it's because they felt that people would hit other restrictions before the exhaust i.e. turbine housing being a big one.

to the OP i have ran the Ptuning exhaust for a little over 3 years now and i love it. the fact that it is V-band makes it leagues ahead of the decendant exhaust.

Yes....other restrictions, like the fact that very very few people, even with a turbo, make enough power with a TC to warrant needing a 3" exhaust.
Im sure the Ptuning exhaust worked great for your particular set-up, just merely trying to point out that the 2.5" might be a better option, depending upon the OP's setup, especially if he isn't running massive boost and/or hp.

the thing is i speak from experience. i ran a garrett .82 a/r .60 trim. on 8psi i made 280whp then all i did was bolt on the 3inch exhaust and took it back to re-tune and i went from 280 to 302whp. then i upped to 10psi and i made 334whp. So i don't see how you can say "you don't really want a 3" exhaust on a tc".

Ok well if we want to get into detail, instead of "you dont really want a 3" exhaust", I should have said "Perhaps, you dont really want a 3" exhaust".
Like I said, it all depends on the OP's set-up....if he is running 300whp like you were then the 3" is a viable option. But I dont just speak from experience, I speak from Dezod's experience (which is a lot) when I say that on a less powerful system, a 2.5 will allow you to maximize your set-up, not only on just power gains, but on creating a good sound as well.

Unless the OP tells us exactly what set-up he is running, we wont know for sure, not really a right vs wrong here, just a good, better, best scenario when it comes to choosing an exhaust with right amount of flow and back pressure for the type of turbo you have, and how much boost/hp you are pushing.

You both make good points but I'd definitely go with the 3" so that if the OP decides to up the boost or one day build the motor....your exhaust system can grow with you and meet the demands of the set up. My whole theory is let that turbo breath!

To the OP I'll give you a little advice.....Forced Induction is habit forming in that eventually you'll want more power. Getting a 3" exhaust now will prevent you from having to get one later. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you all for your inputs. Regarding my setup, I'll probably be running around 10psi. I'm sure Syldrin have already answer this but I am still unsure if the 3" Descendant or P tunning exhaust will bolt up to my 2.5" Dezod S pipe. Or what do I need to make it work?

the ptuning exhaust will bolt up as long as you get the S-pipe back version. the dezod s-pipe is made to mate up to the factory exhaust location and the ptuning exhaust is sold with an adapter that will made up to a factory spipe.

i think i explained that right. they explain it on the websites.

i couldn't speak for the product descendant makes. i don't support trash.

Agreed BUT.....I have Descendant everything because a fechippedw years ago i did my purchase without full research. If I could go back and redo it all I would have gone a different route. But im not gunna knock on my full turbo back 3 inch exhaust from Descendant because I really like it and its a good product. Especially that they sold and shipped it to me for only like $200 because of all the bull____, headaches, delays, and run arounds they put me through.

And FULL 3 inch exhaust ALL DAY!!!!! Forget 2.5 cuz ur gunna end up upgrading it anyway. Do it once nit twice
