Default Failed smog because of High NOx

Yeah, I failed my smog because the NOx was too high. I have gotten a bad primary O2 code a couple times. Thats the only thing I can think of. Any other suggestions. Also, I have an 06 and am using an 08 intake with the MAF sensor just tied down but still a little loose probably. Thanks in advance for the help.

Oh well you should be passing then. Make sure your MAF is on securely and not moving around. Do you have a CEL?

I am stock and throw a bad primary O2 sensor code every once in a while. I failed though because of high NOx, which i believe is from the bad O2 sensor. I think.

Well I am the state referee expert hehe! Well for California that is..

Are you throwing a CEL?
Most likely if you have a bad O2. You will not pass with a bad O2 sensor, I had the same problem, my secondary was bad and I failed.

Second, your running an 08 MAF and you have an 06? Go get a 06 MAF!

If you have a CEL light, you will not pass!

PM me with any questions man!

I think everybody is confused about my situation lol. I drive an 06 that was turbod with a Dezod S1. I got pulled over and sent to the ref. I had to borrow all the parts from my friends TC, but it's an 08. So the intake is slightly different (the maf mounts the opposite direction so i had to just tape it down as tight as possible). I do have a bad O2 sensor. But the code stays off long enough to pass the test from that standpoint. But....the actual reason I failed was from NOx being way too high. I'm just wondering if that would be more from a bad O2 sensor or from the MAF sensor maybe not being secure enough. Or even something else.

well, you really need to just find out what is causing a high nox level to make you fail.
you might be fixing things that aren't the problem you want to solve.

If you throw a CEL you will fail. If you have a CEL and reset it, you will fail. If you have a bad 02, you will fail...

What ref are you going to?

Let me know if I can help you out in anyway, I've been to the ref.
