I had the FI/C tuned by PTuning and currently am revamping my setup. I have an E-Manage Ultimate waiting if I actually decide to finish the car again. The whole 2-step launch was enticing, but I really liked that the stock ECU controlled the start-up ignition. I hated cranking the car for 15-20s with the FI/C.

Should not generalize like that.

My stock 350z tops out at 160mph.

My tC @ 250whp

Again, not true. PTuning kit, as well as Decendant, and an upgraded turbo on a Dezod kit....will all Make WHP long past the stock 6250rpms. Why because the turbo is not running out of steam. Especially if it's something like a GT3076r or bigger.

Do you think PTuning would have taken home the 2008 Redline TA championship if they left the Ultimate with stock parameters and just boost? Or better yet ran just an F/IC? Highly doubt. Even my home Track which is Round #4 on the Redline TA list...has a straight that's capable of 160+mphs. Imagine everyone else running 140-160mph on it, and your car is dying at the half way point because you can't go past 127...

Cost. The F/IC with a PnP harness is around $600 new, the Ultimate is around $1,000.

Something is definitely wrong if it was taking that long to start the car, and it's not the F/IC. I had the F/IC and never had starting issues. My car fired up right away everytime.

Toan said it was different from FI/C to FI/C. Some would do it and some wouldn't. I had 2 different boxes and both did it. Oh well.

If I decide to get another turbo kit soon, I'll use the Ultimate. Otherwise, I may just pony up for a standalone later.

Yea sometimes it would work in 5-6 seconds. It seemed like every time I took a girl out or my parents it'd take 10+ seconds of cranking. Kinda embarassing and the looks I got from my pops weren't good. Haha he doesn't care if I mod my car... if it works.

Honestly For alot of the guys im tuning! They love the FIC!

Using o2 maps you virtually make things perfect!

Sure its harder for the tuner! But when you know what your doing the results are awesome! I make great power on the fic! Stability and driveablilitY! Not saying the ulitmate is ____! But the guys ive tuned dont need it! They want a car that runs like a factory turbo car and the aem fic gives you that! For alot less money!

Everything has its place in this market! And right now the fic is a great gift to the scion world!
