Default Fueling food for though.

Notice the play on words!

Anyay, we did a local tC on the street and dyno after the kit was installed. He then decided to purchase our Walbro in-tank upgrade, which was a great investment for him.

The long and short of it is that when we where tuning his car, for example at 8 PSI he was needing 15% more fuel through the additional injection map in some areas of the top end. After the pump was installed, the AFRs that WHERE tuned to a 11.2:1 where now 10.0:1 all the way accross the board. We leaned here out, and she basically ended up needing .5% more fuel after the pump was install to get the same previous AFRs.

What does all this mean? That stock pump was starving this car under that power! So we are considering making the Walbro pump an included item in all kits for the future! Cheers!

Figured I would inform the community!

it just keeps getting better by the day for us scion owners. throw in alittle competition and see what happens. everything gets better, faster, safer, and cheaper.

Not louder than stock by any means.

Install is a 7.5/10. Not too bad.

Never had a problem with one. Used them on boat loads of cars.

yea, ive used a ton, but i have also seen a some fail. for the price you can't beat them. but since there soo mass prouduced, there is alot that slip past QC.

and if you have never seen a walbro fail, you haven't messed with enough cars.

What do you think happens when your car doesn't get any fuel?

Ah..I see. This REPLACES the original fuel pump.
I thought it was an additional fuel pump just for the turbo.
Why would this have a tendancy to fail more often then the stock fuel pump?

Nice! Adding the pump will cross one more thing off the list that some upgrading will need. Was this something just happening in this car that you noticed or has it happened in anyone else's? By adding the bigger pump could it add power were it wasn't getting enough fuel before?

lol I just answered your other post but no DIY yet, we haven't gotten that far but I will try and do one if we do it. I do think it's hard but I do understand the hesitation.

I don't have mine in yet but I've read a lot about them on here and have talked to people with it on the tC and haven't heard anything about that. I'm sure if it did someone would have said something.
