Default Gauge locations.

I need to find a place for my wideband, oil pressure and boost gauges. Fark A-pillar and fark the dash mount. Anyone have ideas? And cubby is being used. And I don't feel like searching.

I remember there was somebody here in SL who put his gauges in the glove compartment. Can't think of anywhere else though.

I thought about that, but that means I just have to spend more money on something i don't really want...I'm gonna try to cut an opening above the radio in the vents, then leave 1 or 2 of those vent fins open so the heat isn't blowing directly on the gauges.

Won't the heat/cold air affect the gauges?

rabidlemming put his boost gauge right on top of the steering column in front of the the speedo, he can still see his speed in mph, but he can't see his kph or odometer unless he looks around it. but it looked kinda cool.

I have posted up in a few threads with my setup. I got a single DIN headunit and moved it to my glovebox. Then, I mounted my boost, EGT, and oil pressure gauges behind the radio door where the stock headunit was. The wideband 02 sensor is in a pod that is attached to the fusebox cover by the driver's left knee. I really like the layout and is very stealth.

I thought about that, but if I create a duct behind the gauges to vent it thru the top of the those 2 center vents, it should be fine.

I was going to do the steering wheel mount, but I need 3 gauges; Oil pressure, AFR, and boost.

well, you could get the zeitronix lcd display, which is a gauge that can show you boost and a/f ratios. then you just need one gauge for oil pressure.

You could relocate the radio to the center armrest console,... you may have to switch to a single DIN unit...

Or leave the radio where it's at and place the gauges in a custom pod in place of the cupholders (next to the e-brake, but visibility may be an issue...

Yeah...lol too much work. Besides, I don't have a spare armrest to tear apart. I have 2 extra waterfall units, so I'm going to measure it out and try to mount the 3 gauges above the radio where the center ducts are.

Now, anyone have any suggestions for types of gauges? I'll be picking up a Eugo wideband, but any suggestions for boost/oil pressure? I'd prefer the boost gauge to only go up to 15psi...most I've been seeing go from 30in Hg to 30psi...it'll look kinda retarded if I'm maxing out at 8psi.

The armrest is just slightly too narrow for a standard headunit. I assume that the stock Scion headunit is the same measurements. It is possible, but would require quite a bit of modification to the inside of that armrest cubby. I was originally going to put my headunit there but because of the work involved, decided to put it in the glovebox.

I felt the same way... Why have a gauge that goes up to 30psi when the S/C goes to 7lbs. Maybe 9.5 if you get the pulley... Here is something I got. Maybe you will like it too...

I had the same thoughts when looking for a boost gauge. I didn't need a 2 bar gauge when I was going to be running a max of 12psi. That is why I went with Stewart Warner gauges. Extremely readable and accurate. I have been extremely satisfied with mine.
