Default gauges

Should I get a boost gauge that shows both vaccum and boost?

No prob.
It's not neccessary, but it is good to keep an eye on. Might as well have both in one gauge. I actually got the AEM Tru Boost so I have boost, vacuum and boost controller all in one.

neither is really NECESSARY, but if your turbo'ing your car, you'll want to keep an eye on the vacuum as well as the boost. It'll let you know if you have a leaky coupler/hose, etc.

There's no reason not to get a gauge that shows vacuum as well

Ok good, I was just making sure. Those are good gauges and look pretty sweet, you may want to look at the AEM boost gauge, not sure if it shows both vacuum and boost, but it will match your others

I know the AEM TruBoost was updated to show boost and vac, but it's also a boost controller so it's like $300, where their boost gauge alone is under $200. It must do vac cause the description is -30 - 50, so vac 30 to 50 psi. DAMN! But it's got the digital readout in the middle, just like the others.
I knew I wanted the AEM Wideband and tru boost, so I got their oil pressure instead of autometer just so they would all match.

You won't ever be running anywhere near 50psi, so why would you want a gauge with such a large range? Stick with a gauge that reads -20 (vac) to 20psi. It's a usable range, and less expensive.

Or, you can just get for example a greddy profec B spec 2 electronic boost controller (or a something similar from a different company), with a built in boost gauge. No need for any extra visible gauges on your dash or a-pillar, tucks away into your glove box, or you can mount it to your console, and its a digital read out. If your going to spend that much money, may as well get an all-in-one electronic.

Yup.
The AEM Truboost does not have labeled numbers on the face like their plain boost gague does, and you can set what the max and min is, I think. I haven't found any that max out less then 30psi. But 50 is overkill

Oh, and I didn't want to put a boost controller in my cubby, or have gauges down there where I have to take my eyes off the road to view it, so the tru boost was perfect. Granted, it is much limited as a BC then most other units, but it fits in my gauge pod in the center of my dash, and it wasn't to expensive.

would it be worth it to get the TRU boost gauge as opposed to just the regular one?

or would a cheaper autometer boost gauge and a cheaper manual boost controller be the better deal?

Or is a cheap manual B controller a bad idea?

I just don't want to spend another 1K on gauges...

The tru boost is actually kinda tricky to set up. But since I had the tune shop do it, I didn't have to deal with it. Useing it is just pushing a button.
I got it to save money and so everything would fit in my gaugepod. I think the ideal way to go is a seperate boost gague and a seperate electronic boost controller, like the greddy profec b-spec 2 for about $300.

But there are some people who swear by manual boost controllers, which you can get for under $75 easy. You just have to pop your hood to adjust boost, and you have to be carefull with those not to overboost.
