Default Getting rid of turbo!

Well, I just got pulled over for the 2nd time in a couple months, soooo....I'm goin back to stock and getting rid of the TC. I'll be looking to trade the kit for stock parts, soo...if anybody is interested in a suuuuuper discounted Dezod S1 kit, nows your chance. More details tomorrow. PM me, email me...call me whatever. But I don't have a car to drive now cuz i'm not allowed to drive the TC until i go to the referee AGAIN! so need to do this asap.

About 20 cops were waiting around our local car meet and just pulling everybody over pretty much. He said he pulled me over because of exhaust noise, and popped my hood because my gauges made him think I might have modified emmisions.

po-po *****

Move out of California! I loved it there....but couldn't deal with all the hassle.

I have everything you need for a stock re-fit. Don't need the turbo, but I'll give you a good deal on the parts!

exhaust

stock header

stock airbox

I even have the stock injectors!

you should have told him no and if he wanted to see the inside of your engine bay, he needed a warrant. Seeing gauges are not enough reason to do an engine search as they are just simply monitoring tools...too bad though

Hey havnt the refs all been suspended due to budget reasons? This would mean any smog place can validate your car I believe. A member in another post said they will give you a temporary operating permit until the refs are back. The site does state that they are suspended until further notice though. Maybe us CA peeps are finally free?

yeah, it's just like with your home, unless there is cause enough for them to think that there is something illegal under your hood (if your ish is loud or if you were just caught racing) then they need a warrant...otherwise ____ off. I told this to an officer once (even though my stuff is legit) and he said ok and went back to his car...he came back a few minutes later and let me go. I asked him about the warrant ( me being a d!ck), and he said don't worry about it and left...they don't really wanna take the time to get that kind of paperwork unless you really are trouble

Gauges are a reason for probably cause in terms of the police, so is modified exhaust, or anything else that a police officer suspects could be evidence of illegal modifications.

Also, I can't find any official info, but I remember reading that if you decide to not comply to a search and the police officer expresses probably cause, your car can be towed.

In any case, there are three things that would help out a turbo owner in this situation. There is a mod you can buy for your exhaust, that with a push of a button, eliminates almost all of noise, even when revving. Personally, I use Defi BF Imperial Gauges because when they're not on, the screen is just a black face. And I always keep a recorder in my car just in case, I need some evidence!

Threads like these crack me up. People saying its the cops that are the dcks and all that crap. Putting a turbo on your car is KNOWINGLY breaking the law. Plain and simple, like it or not, it is what it is. I am not saying I agree with it, but thats what it is.

The people who have the turbos are just as much of dcks as the officers that pull them over. Atleast the cops are being legal about it all and have the integrity to follow the regs, not the same for the turbo owners tho.

(I am not saying I agree with the laws, or saying I wouldnt go turbo, but to get mad when caught, is pointless, because you new it when you got it. There are even stickers under the hood about the laws of emmisions and bullcrap.)
