I think the combo between the runner diameter of the manifold design AND the larger .78 A/R divided inlet with a SHORT redline of 6250, is part of your gripe about the laggy-ness of the overall system.

Runner diameter is a big partof exhaust velocity. A larger diameter will flow more at higher boost, but the lower boost will move slow. As a result you would have more lag.

Some tuning could help for lag, but it's only for fine tuning. You can play around with ignition timing a little to help.

With the AEM EMS, there is anti-lag! 2 styles of control. Madd retarded timing and RICH AFRs do it well.

Anti-Lag hurts the turbo though doesn't it?

If used for extended periods of time, you can expect the EGTs to go up quite a bit.

All possibilities......but given the following:

1- its not tuned yet

2- do you know what the runner diameter is?

3- is a divided manifold with a divided housing. Even with low rev limit....on a stock head there is enough air there to get it going

Guess we will just wait and see what it does.

Regards-

Todd

It puts hard abuse on the components of the system with HUGE variations in EGTs

lol well we got the car running off wastegate pressure and got the water meth working and when we went to start tuning the unichip we were prompted to update the firmware which caused the unichip to kick the bucket.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Ok. So are you retuning with it or getting a new ems?

Why not do it once and be done with it. No sense in spending the $$ on all Ult and all of the upgrades it comes out to half of the standalone......PLUS tune time.

Ultimately, (no pun intended) the choice is yours and it's your $$. So GL and let the schwartz be with you.

The issue at hand is i had 1300 to my name... 500 goes to the EMS which leaves me 800 for the tune and gas and food. My birthday is next week so I am PRAYING for some checks.

my tuner doesnt have any experience with it and I don't trust any other tuners in the area. He is confident with the ultimate and I go where he is comfortable. Standalone will be in my future when I decided to step up my game, but I really need to focus on getting the car driveable so I can get it to HIN Boston
