Default Has anyone tried this turbo??

Ok so granite it is off of ebay but it does look like a good turbo / deal. Its a t3 + wastegate + oil line kit + flange. Alot of people are very bias against ebay but I have had nuthing but luck with buying items off of ebay. A friend of mine has told me that he knows a few people who have bought this and they love it but i am yet to meet anyone of them. Has anyone tried this? If so is it reliable?

That's likely to blow up after about 50 miles..

Ever hear the old saying? Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick Two..

I'm adding to that: With eBay & performance parts, Pick ONE

Dude, $450 for a turbo? This should go without saying, but since it doesn't, this is garbage.

Well i am kinda new to the forsed induction so since its going to blow is there any higher performance parts that i could get to put in the turbo to make it not blow or am i just stupid and should just spend money on a real turbo?

the warranty is on the parts themselves. guarentee they don't shell out a penny for a new engine should you blow your engine.

the risk is yours to take. do you want to spend $$450 on a turbo kit versus 10 grand for a new engine should something go wrong. or 4 to 5 thousand for a proven turbo kit like dezod, turbotoyotas or turbonetics.

granite:
#1 - plutonic igneous rock having visibly crystalline texture; generally composed of feldspar and mica and quartz
#2 - something having the quality of granite (unyielding firmness); "a man of granite"

don't go ebay on turbo parts unless you are just buying pipes and couplers and such.

I just got why you did that!

But seriously, the reason everyone is saying you'll blow ur motor is because they are using random parts. For instance, the wastegate is probably the most vital part of a turbo set up, they chose to use some knock off WG which you know nothing about. So, it the WG got stuck shut, your boost would build untill the point you could damage your motor. Where as going with a more established turbo kit, i.e. greddy, dezod, you have proven parts selected as well as piece of mind. Like the other guys were saying, reliable and cheap do not go in the same sentence, especially when it comes to your car.

you are better off buying the blue tag serial plated t04e turbochargers. those wuxi mingzhu one you've shown are mass produced in great quantities and have a higher failure rate because of that. most of the chinese turbochargers require an oil restrictor and about one week proper break-in period without WOT in order to set everything in.

do you know exactly which one he has? there are at least five different types of t04e & t3/t4 turbochargers made by about four various chinese companies. a picture of the compressor housing would be nice.

here's an ebay turbo trial on a civic hatch with about 15,000+ miles.

like everyone has been saying. performance isnt cheap. and forced induction (not forsed) is even more expencive. that turbo for 1 is way to small. ull spool that up if not at idle at 1400rpms. ull make no power and then the turbo will most likely blow in a short amount of time. thats why these kits dezod or what ever the case may be are like 3800-5000 because its the correct set up and its quality. do what you want but ur just gonna creap issues. ebay and performance do not go hand and hand. unless ur looking for crap for a junkyard civic (not knocking civics i had a boosted hatch) i would never by ebay parts. id rather pay for quality then save for crap.

just bc its on Ebay doesn't mean its a cheap piece of ____!!!!

however.. the link you posted is a cheap piece of ____!! LMAO

dont buy a turbo from ebay unless your looking for a specic one. but even then, you need to be VERY AWARE! for example... you can search for a gt35r, and you will find some real deal garrett 35r turbos, but then you'll find the knock offs too... the knock offs are listed as gt35r spec turbo and stuff like that.

just buy a garret from Todd!!!!!!!!! that way you know it'll last, and its the real deal!
