heat wrap WARNINIG
Dont ever heat wrap your manifold. I just brought a used dezod kit from someone one here and the manifold and down pipe was heat wraped. The down pipe is in mint condion but the maifold has a few cracks. I will be posting pics up later to show you the cracks caused by the wrap.
Yup that's true, this word should spread.. Ive seen a lot off set ups with heat wraps.. Sometimes crack on the manifold is blamed on bad quality but prolly are caused by heat wraps.
Well, I wouldn't blame it entirely on the heat wrap. I have a Dezod manifold that isn't wrapped and it cracks like crazy. It seems that everytime I have a crack repaired I get a new one. Some of the weld were not done hot enough and their is very little penetration in the pipe ends.
pics of crack does enyone know if its worth fixing

What do you mena by "Worth Fixing"?
do you mean just dumping it and getting a new one? Or running it with the cracks?
Because you SHOULD NOT run it with the cracks...they will just get worse.

yea fixing it or just getting a new one
If the DP is cracked to, and your gonna get a new mani and dp, I'd get a tubular from TurboToyotas. But I've hae friends that had their mani's welded and they have been fine...but you always run the rist of it cracking again.
I'm assuming you want to save some cash which is why you got a used one, so that's up to you.

well...it's not like it's a cast manifold. It's still made with welded tubes...just in a log shape. In fact, I could see it cracking more then an EL tubular mani due to the indirect air flow.
Now if a CAST mani, like the treadstone, were to crack...then there are issues.

It just a cheap band aid, it will eventually crack again. You cannot "fix" the original reason why it cracked in the first place. Yes it works, and can buy you some time, but it WILL happen again.
